I feel sooo lucky to have had back at the pagoda for another mission day helping check the health of all my cats and dogs.

With the support of an amazing team, many of our cats were desexed, dewormed, and vaccinated against rabies to keep our pagoda community safe and healthy.

Every mission day is a reminder of how much love and effort goes into this work, and I’m endlessly grateful for the kindness and care PPAWS always shows us 🙏💖🐈🐶

A couple of weeks ago, Mrs Beautiful Face, who i see day in day out, suddenly went missing. When I didn’t see her for two days straight, I knew something was wrong :(

I started going morning and evening to call for her, for over a year she’s been in the same spot so I knew her territory and hiding places, but there was no sign of her. My worry was that she’d become injured or sick and was hiding, so I had to keep looking. On the fourth day, I finally heard the faintest little meows echoing from inside a stupa.

We immediately spoke with the monks and pagoda workers, but no one knew who the stupa belonged to or how to contact the owner. I climbed the fence, slipped my phone through a crack, she was curled up but alive. I managed to toss some food in, and she ate, which gave me hope!

For the next couple of days, we kept trying to find the owner, asking more ajars, moto dops, sellers, etc. We could hear her little paws trying to climb up but she was completely sealed inside. Then, just as we were starting to lose hope, a man appeared at the pagoda who had the master key. After almost a week trapped, Mrs Beautiful Face was finally free.

She spent a few days at for fluids and monitoring for dehydration, and is now back at the pagoda, safe, well, and very happy to be back 😻

It’s been a busy few weeks for our pagoda cats and rescues 🥺 here’s just a glimpse of some of the treatments they’ve needed recently:

1. Lady was treated for severe stomatitis (a painful mouth infection).
2. We rescued a tiny kitten born in a boat! You can message if you’d like info on adopting him!
3. Green Eyes, one of our older girls, had full bloodwork and testing. I’m so thankful it was just calicivirus (mouth ulcers), though she’s still struggling to gain weight.
4. My sweetest girl CC visited the vet and her bloods tested positive for mycoplasma (a blood infection), she stayed for a week.
5. Handsome had a check-up for a bad case of man-flu and an eye infection, because I’m always so afraid it could turn into something more sinister.
6. Mrs Beautiful Face was treated for dehydration after being trapped inside a stupa for almost a week (full story coming soon!).
7. One of our ginger kittens developed a fever and loss of appetite after desexing and needed a little more support at the clinic for a few days too.

It’s been non-stop, but we’re so grateful to the amazing team at for always fitting us in and helping the Chonk cats get the care they need! As always, please donate to us if you can 🙏

Update! Kittens are all safely off the street, have been health checked, deflead and dewormed by the amazing . 4 babies - half British Shorthairs - are still looking for foster homes/adoptions. Please message if you can help 🙏

Looking for temporary foster homes for British Shorthair kittens and their mama. Each need to be dewormed, deflea, and mama desexed, before they can be ready for adoption so hoping to find short term homes for them while we health check!

Something amazing has happened! We receive a huuuuge donation of almost 400kg of dry food from ! Thank you so so much! We’ve split this food with other local cat feeders so this is supporting well over 100 animals. 😭🥹

We’ve been trying to catch this little boy (.x named Oscar) for 10 days but he’s been so afraid we couldn’t get close enough. Today we managed it and he’s finally arrived at .
