🏆 𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮!

What happens when young people are given the chance to look at the roads around their own school, spot the problems they see every day, and come up with their own solutions?
That’s what the VIA Safe Mobility Program is about. Supported by the TotalEnergies Foundation and implemented for the first time in Cambodia by Sipar, the program brings high school students together as VIA Ambassadors to take action for safer mobility in their schools and communities. 🚸

👉Over the past few months, students from Kampot, Kep, Svay Rieng, Mondulkiri, Kandal and Takeo formed VIA Clubs and got to work: creating games and workshops, making awareness videos, performing plays, working with local authorities, helping younger children cross the road safely and, along the way, identifying the road safety issues closest to them.
🎤This week in Phnom Penh, the six clubs came together for the VIA National Final Competition. Each team took the stage to share what they had done, the problem they had identified, and the solution they believed could make a real difference around their school and community. 🇰🇭

The final results were:
🥇 1st place – Chariyavong High School, Kep
🥈 2nd place – Angroka High School, Takeo
🥉 3rd place – Hun Sen Koh Nheaek High School

Last week, children in the brick factory communities joined our Literacy Day celebrations with a little reading challenge of their own. The idea was simple: choose a book you like, read it, and share the story with your friends.
The children picked their own stories, from “The Giant in the Jungle” to “The Kit is Broken, How Can I Get It Back?” and “What a Disturbance!”, and took turns reading and presenting them to the group.📚

For some, it was their first time reading aloud in front of their friends. For others, it was a chance to show how much more comfortable they have become with reading.

✨They practised their reading. They discovered new stories. They shared their favourites. And, perhaps most importantly, they got to stand up, speak out and realise: “𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴.”

Such a special day out in Banteay Meanchey! 🎒✨

It was wonderful visiting Rong Cham Village alongside អង្គការ រក្សាកុមារ - Raksa Koma Organization to check out the new reading corner. Seeing the kids dive straight into books and getting to chat with the teachers made it all so worth it.

🌏📚 Beyond Borders: Connecting Through Libraries

For the first time, our Sipar team from the Brick Factory Project, Youth Empowerment Program, and Education in Prison Program travelled to Vietnam for a two-day Study Tour, exploring libraries, learning spaces, and community services across Ho Chi Minh City. ✨

From the Ho Chi Minh City General Sciences Library and Cultural Center Library to the Library of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and Phu Lam Ward Public Service Provision Center, each visit brought fresh ideas, inspiring conversations, and new perspectives. 📖💡

What made the experience even more special was connecting with people who share our belief that libraries can be much more than places for books. They can be spaces to learn, connect, create, and dream. 🌱

We’re bringing this valuable experience back to Cambodia to inspire new ways of making reading, learning, and knowledge more accessible to the children, young people, families, and communities we work with. 📚

A big thank you to all our hosts and partners in Vietnam for the warm welcome, generous sharing, and inspiring conversations. ❤️

📚 Bringing Reading to National Literacy Day in Ratanakiri

Sipar was happy to join the 26th National Literacy Day celebration in Ratanakiri Province, under the theme “Literacy Promotes Quality and Inclusive Education.”
Our Mobile Library was there too, giving young people, especially youth from ethnic minority communities, a chance to explore books, read, and enjoy a space for learning through our bilingual books. 📖✨

For Sipar, this is what literacy is about: making reading and learning more accessible, and helping every young person discover the joy of books, wherever they are. ❤️

🚚 The STEAM Truck made a different kind of stop this time.

Not in a village.
Not at a school.
Not at one of our usual community stops.

This time, Sipar’s STEAM mobile library rolled into the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center in Kandal Stung District for a full day with young people. 📚✨

A total of 26 young men joined us in the morning, followed by 33 young women in the afternoon, gathering around stories, books, and STEAM activities.

And it wasn’t a day of simply “sitting down and reading.”

There was Kamishibai storytelling, a free reading session, educational games linked to STEAM experiments, and other activities that got everyone involved. There were plenty of moments to discover, laugh, think, share, and have fun along the way. 🔬

For Sipar, reading can happen in many different ways and in many different places.
This visit was especially meaningful as it brought books, reading activities, and STEAM education directly to young men and young women who have fewer opportunities to access them.

Because sometimes, all you need is a truck full of books, a good story, and a little room for curiosity. 📚🚚

ក្នុងឱកាសឆ្នាំសិក្សាថ្មីខិតចូលមកដល់ យុទ្ធនាការ «បើកបវេសនកាលឆ្នាំសិក្សាថ្មី» របស់អង្គការស៊ីប៉ា ក៏បានចាប់ផ្តើមអនុវត្តនៅតាមឡឥដ្ឋផងដែរ! 🏫

📚 Look! Sipar’s Back to School Campaign 2026–2027 is here! 🎒✨

The new school year is just around the corner, and Sipar’s Back to School campaign is already underway in brick factory communities! 🏫

For many families living in brick factories, daily life can be extremely difficult, and the cost of school supplies can be a real challenge. That is why, this year, our campaign aims to support more than 1,000 children as they prepare to return to school. ✨

Throughout September, our activities will continue with families and children, building awareness and encouraging every child to take their next step toward education, especially encouraging children at the age of 6 to enroll in Grade 1.
The campaign will culminate in October with the distribution of school kits, helping children start the new school year with the materials they need. 🎒📖✏️

Through the campaign, we share important messages about why going to school matters and how staying in school can open doors to a brighter future.

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream. 🌱

Books have arrived in Rong Cham! 📚💛

Ten days after announcing our collaboration with Raksa Koma Organisation (RKO), our Sipar team travelled to Rong Cham Village, Banteay Meanchey, a community where families displaced by conflict have been rebuilding their lives.

At Banteay Meanrith Primary School, we set up our first reading corner. And, of course, we couldn’t leave without sharing a few stories, games and reading activities with the children. 📖✨
900+ students, including more than 460 girls, now have a place to discover books at school.

👉But it is only the first.

Five other schools in Rong Cham are still waiting for their own reading corner.
We hope, with the support of our partners and supporters, to be able to bring books and the joy of reading to them too. 🌱📚

ក្នុងឆ្នាំ២០២៤ អង្គការស៊ីប៉ា ដោយមានការគាំទ្រពី RESPEK បានផ្តល់ឱកាសឱ្យសុខលីចូលរួមក្នុងកម្មវិធីអាហារូបករណ៍សម្រាប់យុវជនដែលបានបោះបង់ការសិក្សា។ គាត់បានជ្រើសរើសរៀនជំនាញជួសជុលម៉ូតូ និងបានចំណាយពេលមួយឆ្នាំកន្លះ ដើម្បីអភិវឌ្ឍជំនាញអនុវត្តជាក់ស្តែង។ 🛠️🏍️

បច្ចុប្បន្ន សុខលីកំពុងប្រកបរបរជាជាងជួសជុលម៉ូតូ ដោយបានប្រែក្លាយជំនាញដែលខ្លួនមានទៅជាមុខរបរ និងប្រើប្រាស់ចំណេះដឹងដែលបានរៀន ដើម្បីកសាងអនាគតកាន់តែប្រសើរសម្រាប់ខ្លួន និងគ្រួសារ។

រឿងរ៉ាវរបស់សុខលីបង្ហាញពីសារៈសំខាន់នៃ ឱកាសសិក្សាលើកទី២។ សម្រាប់យុវជនជនជាតិដើមភាគតិចដែលត្រូវបោះបង់ការសិក្សា ការទទួលបានជំនាញអនុវត្ត និងការបណ្តុះបណ្តាលវិជ្ជាជីវៈ អាចបើកផ្លូវថ្មីសម្រាប់អនាគតរបស់ពួកគេ។ 🌍

When school ends, potential shouldn’t. 🌱📚

Did you know that only 67% of ethnic minority children in Cambodia complete primary school, according to UNICEF? 📊

For young people who leave school early, finding a way back into learning can be difficult. But leaving school does not mean leaving their potential behind. ✨

Meet Nang Sokly, a young member of the Tampuan Indigenous community in Ratanakiri. 🌿

While studying, he spent Monday to Friday tapping rubber trees to help his mother and older siblings earn an income and attended classes only on Saturdays and Sundays. After completing Grade 9, Sokly had to leave school to help his family. With limited opportunities ahead, his education seemed to have come to an end.
Then came a second chance. 🤝

In 2024, SIPAR, with support from Respek Association, gave Sokly the opportunity to join a scholarship program for school dropouts. He chose to learn motorcycle repair and spent one and a half years developing practical skills. 🛠️🏍️

Today, Sokly works as a motorcycle mechanic, turning his skills into a career and using what he has learned to build a better future for himself and his family.

His story shows why second chance learning matters. For Indigenous young people who have had to leave school, practical skills and vocational training can open a new path forward. 🌍

Sokly says, “This opportunity has changed my life and made it possible for me to become the person I am today.” ❤️
