Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia that has left its people devastated from years of war. Nearly 2-2.5 million of its people being murdered by Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge, causing it two years in a row to be listed as the most corrupt country in this region. Unfortunately corruption does nothing for the people but only takes from them. There is no government help, leaving the people, for tho
se who are fortunate to find work, to survive on less than $2.00 a day. Because of this poverty, the children of Cambodia are endangered and exploited. Children are often forced to work long hours, and often mothers will put their children on the streets to beg, or she sell her children to a pe*****le because that brings in more of income than for her to go out and work. In the fall of 2010, my husband and I, [him being 62 and me 59] began to to sell everything we have of 43 years of marriage. After visiting Cambodia four other times, we wanted to come here to make a difference in the lives of these peoples. Not only to provided for their spiritual needs by bringing them the GOSPEL of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, but their physical needs as well. We arrived in Cambodia on July 4th of 2011. As I walked the streets of Cambodia, my heart was burdened for the children in Cambodia. I have heard of, an personally seen NGO's that are raising huge amounts of funding under the auspices of helping children. Yet often, I see very little of this funding that actually gets to the children themselves. This is what prompted me to do something more. Something that I myself can control. That's when "ASIAS CHILD" was birthed in my heart. My objective is to raise awareness of the need, and than to raise funding to help meet the needs of these children. Meeting their needs "ONE CHILD AT A TIME" as the resources are available. The ministry will begin here in Cambodia and than as resources are available will expand to other S.E. With my husband and I living in the region, it affords us the opportunity to oversee each area of need in these children's lives making it possible to personally see that they are being feed, clothed, and educated. If need be, personally taking them to the dentist and doctor as needed, or overseeing and making sure it is done. HE THAT HATH PITTY UPON THE POOR LENDETH UNTO THE LORD; AND THAT WHICH HE HATH GIVEN WIL BE RPEAID HIM AGAIN. PROVERBS 19:17
HE THAT HATH BOUNTIFUL EYE SHALL BLESSED; FOR HE GIVETH OF HIS BREAD TO THE POOR. PROVERBS 22:9
