Hagar International Foundation in Cambodia organized the Annual Reflection Workshop for the project “Empowering and Restoring Survivors,” with a total of 50 participants (35 female). Participants included members of community based-groups (Good Husband Group, Good Wife Group, Youth and Children Groups) from the three target districts, representatives from the Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC), the Women and Children Consultative Committee (WCCC), Battambang Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, and staff from the Kamrieng Migration Reception Center.
During the workshop, youth and community representatives from Phnom Proek and Sampov Loun districts shared positive changes after one year of project implementation. Children and youth have gained stronger awareness of child rights, participation in community development, and protection from exploitation and abuse, especially online. Parents and caregivers have also improved their understanding and practice of positive parenting and support for children’s fundamental rights in daily life.

Likewise, a youth representative from Serey Meanchey Commune, Sampov Lun District, highlighted that peer-to-peer education activities among youth in the community have been highly effective, as young people understand one another well and can easily share knowledge. These activities have enabled children and youth to pass information on to parents and caregivers, resulting in positive changes in parenting and child protection within the community.
In addition, communities now have greater awareness of human trafficking, safer migration, and informed decision-making, while also improving their ability to protect themselves.

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the HAGAR International Foundation conducted a presentation on training topics related to prevention, protection, and safeguarding to be delivered starting from May 2026. The event was held in the presence of the Deputy District Governor, commune and village-level officials of Kouk Nok Commune, including the Commune Chief, Deputy Commune Chief, and Village Chiefs. The upcoming training will focus primarily on key topics such as Human trafficking, Safe migration, Child protection, Abuse and online scams and Reporting of victim cases as these represent serious and prevailing challenges currently occurring within communities in the area.
At the same event, elections were also held to select representatives for the Children and Youth Group, the Good Mothers Group, and the Good Fathers Group, and the organizational structure of each group was established with clearly defined responsibilities with a total of 51 participants attended, including 24 women.
The Deputy District Governor in charge, the District Social Affairs Officer, the Kouk Nok Commune Chief, the Commune Council members, the Village Chiefs, and all participants expressed great enthusiasm and wholehearted support for HAGAR's activities in establishing community-based training groups for prevention and protection, as well as for providing timely support to victims.

On April 09, 2026, Hagar International Foundation in Cambodia organized and celebrated the Songkran New Year, with the participation of all staff and a number of our partner organizations.
This Khmer New Year celebration was not merely an event, but a meaningful affirmation of the importance of recognizing and honoring the contributions of all staff and stakeholders who helped achieve success in the past year, and of our continued work together in the year ahead.
During the occasion, we were uplifted through words of encouragement, fun and recreational games, traditional popular games, the sharing of joy and happiness, and a communal meal together — as one Hagar family.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the team of Hagar International Foundation Cambodia had the opportunity to participate in the second training session on Nonviolent Communication (NVC), facilitated by Mr. Keng Bun Chhoeut, Asia Regional Manager of ERIKS Development Partner.
This training went beyond simply providing knowledge. It strengthened multi-level thinking, encouraged reflection on real-life experiences, and inspired positive changes in attitudes and behaviors in communication. Participants enhanced their skills in using thoughtful language, providing constructive feedback, and responding with empathy, ethics, and respect—contributing to peaceful and nonviolent relationships both within families and in the workplace.
One staff member shared:
“This training has been extremely valuable for me. The first session already brought positive changes in how I understand and communicate with my children, with much greater empathy.”
Another participant reflected:
“I realized that in the past, I often used general judgments. Now, I am beginning to understand the importance of observation, listening, and responding with empathy.”
This topic will remain a key focus for our team as we continue to reflect, strengthen, and refine our skills to achieve ongoing positive change in both our personal lives and professional work.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Keng Bun Chhoeut and the team from ERIKS Development Partner for their continued support and for walking alongside Hagar as a valued development partner.

Dated on 07th April 2026, Hagar Cambodia conducted a one-day training course on Effective Project Report Writing, in person for Hagar Cambodia Staff team members, at the Hagar Cambodia Head Office.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in producing clear, concise, and results oriented project reports. The session covered the importance of project reporting, common reporting challenges, and different types of project reports, including activity based and result based reporting. Participants were guided through the full project reporting process, including report planning, data collection and verification, drafting, and submission procedures.

Additional emphasis was placed on the practical use of log frames, tracking project activities, and applying the standard report template. The training combined presentations, facilitated discussions, and practical examples to link reporting concepts with participants’ actual project implementation experience.

នៅថ្ងៃទី ៣ ខែមេសា លោកឯកអគ្គរាជទូត Dominic Williams បានបំពេញទស្សនកិច្ចទៅកាន់អង្គការ Hagar ដើម្បីស្វែងយល់អំពីការងាររបស់ពួកគេ ដែលបានអនុវត្តនៅកម្ពុជាអស់រយៈពេលបីទសវត្សរ៍កន្លងមក ក្នុងការគាំទ្រជនរងគ្រោះ និងអ្នករស់រានមានជីវិតពីការរំលោភបំពាន និងការជួញដូរមនុស្ស។ អង្គការ Hagar ត្រូវបានបង្កើតឡើងនៅកម្ពុជា ហើយក៏បានចុះបញ្ជីនៅចក្រភពអង់គ្លេស និងមានការិយាល័យគាំទ្រនៅទីនោះផងដែរ។

On 3 April, Dominic Williams British Ambassador to Cambodia visited Hagar Cambodia to learn about its work in Cambodia over the past three decades supporting victims and survivors of abuse and human trafficking. Founded in Cambodia, Hagar is also registered in the UK and maintains a support office there.

As the UK continues to focus on tackling online scamming, the discussion with Hagar was timely and valued. The meeting also covered broader human trafficking trends, including Hagar’s national-level engagement with government agencies.
