AN OPEN APPEAL TO H.E. THE GOVERNOR OF WAJIR COUNTY

We, the nurses of Wajir County, respectfully seek your urgent intervention regarding the long-pending issue of promotions and redesignations.
Nurses have continued to serve the people of Wajir with dedication, often under challenging conditions. Many have upgraded their qualifications and met all the required criteria for career progression. However, despite previous agreements and engagements, implementation remains pending.
Your Excellency, career progression is not merely an administrative matter — it is a question of fairness, motivation, and strengthening healthcare service delivery in our county.
We believe in dialogue and partnership. We trust in your leadership and commitment to justice for all public servants. We therefore humbly request your direct intervention to ensure that the agreed promotions and redesignations are implemented without further delay.
The nurses of Wajir remain committed to serving our community and look forward to a swift and amicable resolution under your leadership.

PRESS STATEMENT ON FAILURE TO PROMOTE AND REDESIGNATE NURSES IN WAJIR COUNTY
Wajir County nurses wish to formally express their deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding the continued failure by the County Government of Wajir to implement agreed promotions and redesignations.
Despite clear agreements and documented commitments, the county has not honored its obligations. Nurses who have upgraded their academic qualifications, met all professional requirements, and diligently served the people of Wajir remain stagnated in the same job groups for years.
This persistent delay is unjust, demoralizing, and unacceptable.
Nurses form the backbone of the healthcare system in Wajir County, often working under extreme conditions including staff shortages, limited resources, and high patient loads. Failure to recognize their professional growth and career progression undermines morale and directly affects service delivery.
Promotion and redesignation are not favors — they are earned rights grounded in policy, qualification, and experience.
We therefore call upon the Wajir County Government to urgently implement all pending promotions and redesignations without further delay. Continued inaction will only deepen dissatisfaction and disrupt healthcare services.
The nurses of Wajir remain committed to serving the public but demand fairness, respect, and fulfillment of all signed agreements.
