This has been a very busy week, Mzee Savalanga, who is known for the tantrums he has been throwing since he fell out with Mshapa, together with local newsmen wannabes, have been all over the place running a coordinated mudslinging campaign against Wakili Newton Kifuso, popularly known as by those who know his workmanship.

Now here comes the Oracle of the Hills, a voice of truth and reason echoing across the constituency. Let all that have a regard for the truth hear. Here we’ll take a pause and look at things critically, we’ll examine all that has been said, and we’ll sift their remarks with a sieve that does it with the precision of the sieve of Eratosthenes.

Taita Taveta County as we know it today is inhabited by very many communities, and the hospitality of the people of this county is evident in the way all these people have been welcomed. They live and work here with no qualms, until harum-scarum individuals and githeri media want to push their malicious political agenda.

They are now saying that Wakili Newton Kifuso married a wife from elsewhere. With all the development that our constituency needs, how is this an issue to dwell on? Why, oh why? Pray tell. What about all these people from other communities who live here, don’t they need their votes?

Let us all be reminded that when a leader is elected into office, they SERVE EVERYONE within their jurisdiction. That Wakili Newton Kifuso’s wife is from Nyanza is a non-issue, when you hear people say , they mean just that. The people’s leader. A leader of everyone!

Kwa picha hizo naomba kuwaelezea mheshimiwa wakili Newton Kifuso ameshika vijana hawa wa Green Stars United (GSU) mkono kwa hafla hio, kwa sasa team ina muungano mkubwa na ina heshima kwa kila mtu na ni vijana wa umri dogo sana kukuza talanta, pili kupunguza utumiaji wa mihadarati na kuwapa vijana hawa motisha tatu kuwafunza heshima na nidhamu kwa jamii asante sana mheshimiwa kwa support yako. Taita Taveta is one little town. It has been a little town for ages, it has been so since it was called Taita Taveta. Others may call it a county, a beautiful place, a tourist destination, and other interesting appellations that a proud son of the soil is wont to conjure.

But the town crier just showed up. He's a very new Mwalughongo, with a lot of fire burning within him, he walks through the town shouting. And blowing into his whistle with all his might, for all those who care to listen, for all those who happen to be out and about in this here day.

Who are the sons and daughters this town should be proud of?

Call them by their names!
Call them by their deeds!
Let the people be proud of them!
Let everyone know them who have since remained in the shadows!

He passes by, blowing into his whistle and repeating his message.
