Today the Defenders of Human Rights and Civic Education Group Joined Vihiga county residents across the 6 sub counties of Vihiga in public participation forums on the Vihiga County FY 2026/2027 Budget estimates organise by the Vihiga county assembly.

We emphasized the need to allocate more funds for civic education and public participation.

We equally Noted low turn out from the public where despite the publication of the forums in the dailies,the forum attracted about 150 participants across the County,an indication that more needs to be done in terms of civic education. Today the Defenders of Human Rights and Civic Education Group leadership spend the day in Siaya County in its Continued efforts to seek for partnership and collaboration in its upcoming programmes .
Our sincere appreciation goes to the County Commissioner Siaya County Mr Nobert Komora and Madam Zipporah ,Director in the office of the Governor Siaya County for the warm welcome in the county.

We look forward to further engagement as discussed.

Today 3rd June,2026 the Defenders of Human Rights and Civic Education Group visited the leadership of County Government of Nandi , county commissioner Nandi county and Gambongi police station in Vihiga County.
The objective is to seek partnership and collaboration in the implementation of programmes under
Human Rights, Civic Education and Advocacy.
Tomorrow the team is headed to Siaya County for a similar mission.
