On Tuesday the 28th of October, Amnesty international Kenya -Nyandarua COC held an interactive membership recruitment meeting at joy celebration church mkungi, murungaru ward in Kinangop subcounty. The meeting was attended by key stakeholders who included -the area Ass/chief,Ndunyu Njeru police officers,wazee wa nyumba kumi, pastors, CHPs, motorbike riders, farmers, PWDs, teachers,cso.Our objective was to educate participants who Amnesty are, their mandate,why a membership movement, and finally recruitment. One participant registered as a member and seven others expressed interest. Participants take home message was that Amnesty's mandate is to protect and promote human rights. Our next activities are scheduled to Kipipiri, Olkalou,Oljororok and Ndaragua subcounties.We shall post the dates once preparations are through.

We have concluded a four days PHC coalition workshop where much of our roles as CSOs were unpacked to read :-a) Advocacy for resource allocation, resource prioritization and increment for PHC at County level.
b)Policy influence by engaging grassroot policy shapers to ensure PHC is well included in policy development process.
c) feedback channels -CSOs can feel the effects of policy shifts in the community and have clear channels to share this with policy makers at county level.
d) awareness creation -CSOs have better access to users of government policies and can create awareness to communities to understand policies well.

Today I had a good time with catholic men association leaders who had gathered in our lady of assumption catholic church matundura and intensively talked about our personal /church spiritual growth. Also matters health(TB,Hiv and Malaria), County fiscal strategy paper (2025-2026) were critically addressed.

Following the withdrawal of funding by the USA government, our national and county governments must step in to fill the gap and in order to achieve this, both governments together with local organisations must have a round table meeting to discuss on the way forward to sustain the programmes. For this reason Vision Makers CBO was privileged to have a fruitful meeting with Nyandarua CHMT on the same issue.
