Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
One time, a lady told me this:
*"Pastor, I am exhausted in my life of faith. I have reached my limit."*
Do these words mean that it was God who had been working until thenβor that she had been doing all the work?
It means she had been doing everything herself. So, is God able to work or not?
This lady had been *blocking the work of God*.
God does not forcibly work in someone. If you try to do things yourselfβwhether youβre doing well or notβHe leaves you alone.
But when you say, *"God, I cannot do it,"* and surrender, *God begins to work within you from that moment.*
However, most people today live like this:
*"God, donβt work! Get out of the way! Iβll do it!"*
And this becomes the pattern of their spiritual life.
From time to time, I watch pastors on TV preaching sermons.
Whether they read from Genesis, Exodus, Luke, John, or any other book of the Bible, the conclusion often sounds the same:
*"Try hard! Love each other! Be loyal! Work hard!"*
The problem is, people hear these sermons, go to church, and try hard to obey. But they are *unable to*.
If salvation or change could come through our own effort, *why would Jesus have to come?*
