🌍🌱 I CHOSE TO ACT — EVEN WHEN I DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH
As the Coordinator of Nairobi Recyclers, I have learned that you don't need millions to make a difference. You start with what you have.
From Shalom Gardens to Kivuli Centre, we are creating green spaces, growing Pemba grass and kienyeji vegetables, and giving children practical lessons in environmental conservation. 🌿🥬
We are also working with four schools to promote waste segregation and responsible waste management because the environmental future of Nairobi begins with what we teach our children today. ♻️🏫
In Kabiria, we have taken another step by leasing a small piece of land for one year to grow vegetables. It may be small, but it represents food security, sustainable agriculture, community participation and hope. 🌱
We are also introducing “Wazee Tujibambe na Environment”, bringing our elders into environmental activities because their knowledge and experience are valuable to our communities. 👴🏾👵🏾💚
The journey is not easy. Resources are limited, but I believe change does not begin when everything is available—it begins when someone decides to act.
I chose to act.
Nairobi Recyclers is turning waste into opportunity, spaces into gardens and communities into environmental champions. ♻️🌍🌱
I welcome partners, well-wishers, schools, businesses and friends of the environment to join us.
