Stakeholder Engagement in Siaya County

Twajibike held a consultative meeting with the Siaya County Artisanal Mining Committee to present and discuss the findings of the Assessment of Human Rights and Environmental Situation in Artisanal Mining in Siaya County.

The engagement provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on the human rights and environmental challenges affecting artisanal mining communities, while exploring practical, collaborative solutions to promote responsible, safe, and sustainable mining practices.

Together, we are strengthening partnerships, advancing evidence-based advocacy, and working towards a mining sector that respects human rights, protects the environment, and improves the livelihoods of local communities.

We are grateful to the Grade 7 and 8 learners, Assistant Chief Gombe, Assistant Chief Rera, and the Deputy Headteacher for joining hands with Twajibike in our tree-planting exercise. Together, we are growing a greener, healthier future—one tree at a time.
