On 28th May 2028, Society Empowerment Project (SEP), in partnership with Divine Drops and the County Government of Homa Bay, successfully commemorated the Global Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Day under the theme of promoting menstrual dignity, health, and equal opportunities for girls and women. The event brought together adolescents, young people, teachers, health professionals, community leaders, and development partners to raise awareness on menstrual health, challenge stigma, and promote access to menstrual health products and information.
The celebration featured educational sessions, community dialogue, demonstrations on menstrual hygiene management, and distribution of menstrual health information and products. The event provided a platform for participants to openly discuss menstruation, break myths and misconceptions, and advocate for inclusive support from families, schools, and communities.
SEP sincerely appreciates Divine Drops and the County Government of Homa Bay for their leadership, commitment, and partnership in making the event a success. Special gratitude goes to the Ministry of Health (MoH), Kenya Red Cross, KMET, and all other partners and stakeholders whose support contributed to the impactful celebration. Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring that every girl and woman can manage menstruation with dignity, confidence, and access to the resources they need to thrive.
