TMOD Zac Gichuki, our resident Mr Beautiful Skin ๐Ÿ˜Œโœจ, commanded the room with confidence, wit, and infectious energy. The theme, โ€œGlow Through What You Go Through,โ€ had us reflecting on what we make of life while still stressing some of us who have a complicated relationship with Rs and Ls ๐Ÿ’€

ROUND ROBIN SESSION

TMOD Marc Felix led us in a lively Round Robin session that gave everyone a chance to speak, laugh, and share their thoughts. Safe to say, nobody left the room mentally asleep ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ

SPEECHES

The Queen of Trivia, TM Judy Alice Kingโ€™ori, delivered a speech titled A Bouquet on a Walk that, in the words of the General Evaluator, โ€œfelt like a therapy session.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจIndeed, Kilele keeps proving to be a safe space. Oh,and she was dressed as a bouquet.

TM Rodgers Andanyi then came through with his hilarious speech, A Little White Lie Canโ€™t Hurt, Right? This man had us laughing so hard we were practically under our chairs. We truly appreciate a good laugh at Kilele Toastmasters ๐Ÿ’€โœจ

HARKMASTER

Benedict Njurai tested our listening skills during the Harkmaster session and thankfully rewarded us with candy afterwards because growth should come with compensation ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ

TABLE TOPICS

TM MaryAnne Mutuandii led a lively and reflective Table Topics session inspired by the theme โ€œGlow Through What You Go Through.โ€ Between the thoughtful questions, candy-fueled bravery, and bursts of laughter, the session had the General Evaluator wondering whether she was even from around Earth because of her creativity and energy ๐Ÿ’€โœจ

EVALUATIONS

We keep saying feedback is the breakfast of champions, and our evaluators certainly delivered.

TM Suzanne Muhuri evaluated TM Rodgers Andanyi while TM Njeri Kimunyo evaluated TM Judy Alice Kingโ€™ori. Both evaluators did a wonderful job highlighting strengths as well as areas of improvement with warmth and professionalism.

CS James Macharia then gave a general evaluation of the entire meeting. He shared lovely insights, useful tips on how to make our meetings even better, and as always, he was an absolute joy to listen to.

Alsoโ€ฆ he loves war. If you know, you know ๐Ÿ’€โœจ

The lovely Gakenia Thumi listened keenly to our language use and delivered a detailed report on the use of the Word of the Day.

โฑ Timer, Yvonne Kimani, kept us mindful of time while still allowing speakers room to shine.

๐Ÿ“ Ah Counter, Caroline Maina, reminded us all that filler words are not, in fact, a personality trait ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ

At Kilele Toastmasters, we grow, glow, laugh, reflect, overshare responsibly, and occasionally receive candy for emotional bravery ๐Ÿ˜Œโœจ

If you missed this meeting, pole sana (we are sorry. I see the grammarian side eyeing me)because a time was definitely had ๐Ÿ’€

Join us next time and come experience the laughter, learning, storytelling, applause, and beautiful chaos for yourself. We promise youโ€™ll leave with either inspiration, new friends, improved speaking skillsโ€ฆ or at the very least, candy ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ

โœ…๐Ÿ˜ KILELE TOASTMASTERS โ€“ MEETING #197 HIGHLIGHTS | 14th May 2026 ๐Ÿ˜โœ…

By now you know that a time is always had at Kilele Toastmasters ๐Ÿ˜„ Meeting 197 was no different. Past President Samuel Kamwana brought the house down with a lovely theme, โ€œTaking Chances.โ€ Sometimes in life, all we need to do is take chances. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Role Takers

Round Robin Session
TM Wakili Muragu brought his cheekiness in full swing and led us through a wonderful Round Robin Session that gave everyone a chance to speak.

Table Topics
We have seen such impressive improvement in this session, with guests speaking with so much confidence. Beautiful, beautiful scenes. TM Mr Beautiful Skin led this session with thought provoking questions that took great cojones to answer.

Ah Counter
TM Sonia Mahan kept us on our toes as she counted those clutch words.

Grammarian
The Queen of Trivia gave us an interesting Word of the Day: cojones. It took a lot of cojones to use this word ๐Ÿ˜„ It is safe to say that lots of people at Kilele had cojones because the word was very well used. She also made sure we were using the Queenโ€™s language properly.

Timer
TMOD Rodgers Andayi made sure time was well kept.

Harkmaster
This is arguably a favorite session for a lot of us because we get candy. We can already see our dentists side eyeing us ๐Ÿ˜„ Inspiring TM Tracy Ngige tested our listening skills during this session.

Prepared Speeches

We had two brilliant speakers:

TM MaryAnne Mutuandii with โ€œThe Magic of Gratitude.โ€ We learnt the importance of gratitude and appreciating the small things because they indeed turn out to be the big things.

TM Dr Caroline, aka The Queen of Sleep, shared a hilarious speech โ€˜ Success is not a Straight Lineโ€™ about how she conquered the sleep demon. You just had to be there!

Evaluations

As we always say, feedback is the breakfast of champions.

Our speakers received valuable insights from TM Solomon Chengecha and TM Linda Kagwiri.

TM Suzzanne Muhuri gave a general assessment of the whole meeting. We were all taking notes

We also had another evaluator evaluating an evaluator, as required by the curriculum. Past President James Macharia evaluated TM Linda Kagwiri.

Are you looking for a place to learn while still having fun? Join us for our next meeting at Kilele Toastmasters ๐Ÿ˜„
