TMOD Zac Gichuki, our resident Mr Beautiful Skin ๐โจ, commanded the room with confidence, wit, and infectious energy. The theme, โGlow Through What You Go Through,โ had us reflecting on what we make of life while still stressing some of us who have a complicated relationship with Rs and Ls ๐
ROUND ROBIN SESSION
TMOD Marc Felix led us in a lively Round Robin session that gave everyone a chance to speak, laugh, and share their thoughts. Safe to say, nobody left the room mentally asleep ๐ญโจ
SPEECHES
The Queen of Trivia, TM Judy Alice Kingโori, delivered a speech titled A Bouquet on a Walk that, in the words of the General Evaluator, โfelt like a therapy session.โ ๐ญโจIndeed, Kilele keeps proving to be a safe space. Oh,and she was dressed as a bouquet.
TM Rodgers Andanyi then came through with his hilarious speech, A Little White Lie Canโt Hurt, Right? This man had us laughing so hard we were practically under our chairs. We truly appreciate a good laugh at Kilele Toastmasters ๐โจ
HARKMASTER
Benedict Njurai tested our listening skills during the Harkmaster session and thankfully rewarded us with candy afterwards because growth should come with compensation ๐ญโจ
TABLE TOPICS
TM MaryAnne Mutuandii led a lively and reflective Table Topics session inspired by the theme โGlow Through What You Go Through.โ Between the thoughtful questions, candy-fueled bravery, and bursts of laughter, the session had the General Evaluator wondering whether she was even from around Earth because of her creativity and energy ๐โจ
EVALUATIONS
We keep saying feedback is the breakfast of champions, and our evaluators certainly delivered.
TM Suzanne Muhuri evaluated TM Rodgers Andanyi while TM Njeri Kimunyo evaluated TM Judy Alice Kingโori. Both evaluators did a wonderful job highlighting strengths as well as areas of improvement with warmth and professionalism.
CS James Macharia then gave a general evaluation of the entire meeting. He shared lovely insights, useful tips on how to make our meetings even better, and as always, he was an absolute joy to listen to.
Alsoโฆ he loves war. If you know, you know ๐โจ
The lovely Gakenia Thumi listened keenly to our language use and delivered a detailed report on the use of the Word of the Day.
โฑ Timer, Yvonne Kimani, kept us mindful of time while still allowing speakers room to shine.
๐ Ah Counter, Caroline Maina, reminded us all that filler words are not, in fact, a personality trait ๐ญโจ
At Kilele Toastmasters, we grow, glow, laugh, reflect, overshare responsibly, and occasionally receive candy for emotional bravery ๐โจ
If you missed this meeting, pole sana (we are sorry. I see the grammarian side eyeing me)because a time was definitely had ๐
Join us next time and come experience the laughter, learning, storytelling, applause, and beautiful chaos for yourself. We promise youโll leave with either inspiration, new friends, improved speaking skillsโฆ or at the very least, candy ๐ญโจ
