From AWI to action 🌍

After completing AWI Academy as part of Cohort 2, our alumnus Caxton Sammy started a circular business alongside his training.

He collects discarded flip-flops from nature around Ngong and transforms them into these beautiful animals. A brilliant business idea that combines entrepreneurship with environmental action.

Several of his creations were sold to happy customers in Stockholm, Sweden, this weekend through Swedish wholesaler Firma Suunugal 🇸🇪🇰🇪

Congratulations Caxton! We are so proud to see our students turning what they learned into action and continuing to grow after the program.

5 cohorts graduated. 61 athletes trained. In just over one year.

What started as a pilot group in Ngong has now grown into five completed AWI Academy cohorts and a growing alumni family of 61 athletes.

Through the program, participants have gained knowledge in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, contract awareness, AI and long-term career planning. Knowledge that can support them both inside and outside sport.

Each cohort has brought its own energy, questions, dreams and ambitions. We are proud of every athlete who has completed the program so far, and grateful to everyone who has supported AWI Academy along the way.

This is only the beginning 🌏

Graduation Cohort 5 💫

A group that has been engaged, active, motivated and fully present throughout the program. We’re super proud of you all!

This cohort also marks a milestone for AWI, as we have now reached 62 athletes through our program in financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

We’re now looking to grow this impact further with long-term partners.
