SUPERPOWER SERIES: Meet Tausi — THE INFLUENCER
Tausi has always exercised his charm, aura and influence since he was 10 years old. When he was still in school, Tausi used his influence to convince another boy to drop out of school. His voice, so powerful, was pulling people downward.
After dropping out of school, Tausi ended up on the rough and unforgiving streets of Korogocho, where his natural influence kept him out of trouble. He would often stick his neck out, by volunteering to get stuff done, which earned him respect from street gangs leaders.
After a policewoman rescued him, Tausi arrived at our Halfway House, where we immediately noticed something. He would go to school, notice other learners who were struggling and suggest solutions. Other boys listened and followed him.
A few years ago, Tausi was struggling in school and used his influence to convince other boys to quit school. After processing our heartbreak and disappointment, we made a choice. Instead of punishing Tausi’s influence, we used our Co-Active model of coaching and leadership to reframe and redirect his influence into a superpower.
Today, Tausi is helping Lifesong Kenya to identify boys who need support. He notices the silent strugglers and uses his influence to advocate for their welfare.
The same voice that once pulled downward now pulls others from the brink of collapse using influence as his superpower.
At Lifesong Kenya, we don't fix boys. We reframe their troubles and redirects them to their life purpose. Every boy has a superpower that the world hasn't learned to see.
Today, when you see a boy who looks like trouble, or your own son exhibits signs that he is in trouble, do not write him off. Get in touch with us and let's redirect and reframe their troubles.
