The Paris Agreement is a global treaty adopted in 2015 in which countries collectively commit to limiting global warming to well below 2°C, while pursuing efforts to keep it below 1.5°C, by setting their own national climate action plans (NDCs), updating them every five years with increased ambition, transparently reporting progress, participating in global reviews of collective progress, and supporting developing nations through finance, technology, and capacity-building to both reduce emissions and adapt to climate change impacts.
