Meet Mike, a boy whose story could have ended before it even began. There was a time his own father said he did not belong in school… that education was not for him. Words that could have buried his future, silenced his dreams, and defined his destiny.

But grace had a different plan.

I could not ignore his situation. I stepped in not because I had everything, but because I believed he deserved a chance. And when I took that step, God brought the right people along. A friend and colleague came forward with a willing heart and offered to support his school fees.

Today, Mike is in Grade Five at Narok Blessed Academy.

Not struggling… not just coping… but rising.

He is among the best in his class — excelling even in Chinese lessons.

Let that sink in.

A boy once rejected is now standing out.A child once denied a classroom is now leading in it.A life once spoken against is now speaking for itself.
This is more than a story it is a reminder:Never write off a child.Never agree with voices that limit destiny.Never underestimate what one act of compassion can do.
Mike is proof that when love steps in, when someone dares to care, and when God opens a way no word spoken against a life can stand.
His story is not just inspiring… it is a call to all of us:Be the reason someone gets a chance.
Because sometimes, all a child needs is one person to say,“I believe in you.”
And that changes everything.

This Giving Tuesday, hope walks on two crutches… and still refuses to give up.
Across the beautiful plains of Loita, children like this brave young boy wake up every day determined to live, learn, and rise despite challenges many of us will never face. His strength is a testimony that ability is not measured by the body, but by the spirit.
At Hold My Hand Ignite My Hope, we have seen the silent struggles of families raising children with disabilities.
We have heard the questions, the tears, the fears.
We have felt the weight of stigma in our villages.
But we have also witnessed unbelievable courage, the kind only a child fighting to stand can teach us.
This Giving Tuesday, we come together as Hold My Hand Ignite My Hope CBO with compassion, and unity to lift those whose paths are heavy.
When you give, you are not just donating.
You are placing hope in a child’s hands.
You are restoring dignity to a family.
You are saying, “You are seen. You matter. You belong.”

Let us stand with every child who walks these lands with courage.
Let us refuse to let disability define any of our sons and daughters.
Let us give because giving is the heartbeat of our people.

Together, We Give.
Together, We Share.
Together, We Ignite Hope.

*A Story of Pain, Courage, and Hope.*
Meet Alex, a determined Form Three student at Morijo Day Secondary School in Loita.
In October last year, tragedy changed his life forever. A tree fell on him, leading to the amputation of his leg. For a young boy full of energy, books, and dreams, the pain was unbearable. But what makes Alex’s story even more moving is that, despite everything, he still walks to school on one leg. Every step he takes is a battle but also a symbol of courage.
Through the support of Hold My Hand Ignite My Hope CBO in Loita and Jaipur foundation foot trust, Alex received help, care, and encouragement. This is more than charity; it is restoring hope where life tried to steal it.
Friends, we cannot be silent when our sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters face such challenges. These are the hidden heroes of our community young people who refuse to give up, even when the journey is unbearably hard.
Alex’s story reminds us that disability is not inability, and that together, we can create a community where no one is left behind.
Let us not just watch in silence. There is hope for Alex. There is hope for every child like him. And that hope begins when we choose to see, to care, and to act.

*BORROWING FIRE FROM THE NEIGHBOR*
One of my great memories of growing up was being sent to a neighbor’s kitchen to borrow fire in the morning. (It may be familiar to some)
As I got a few embers into a metal plate or tin, I had to run back quickly and deliver my hot contents before the fire holder got too hot or the few embers burnt off... It was an amazing sight to see the ‘transfer’ of these fiery embers bring in new life and pleasure in our hearts. A fire brought life and happiness to all.
Several memorable lessons remain from this:
1. Everyone was generous to share their fire. It would have been absurd to deny this gesture to a dear neighbor. Be a helping hand in this season.
2. A neighbor’s fire did not lose its potency for sharing it out. Sometimes it would even burn brighter after being shared out. You lose nothing by sharing with others.
3. The fire lender today may be the fire borrower tomorrow. We need each other.
As we go through these uncertain days, may I urge each of us to take some moment to consider how to ‘start’ one another’s fire.
*Hebrews 10:24-25* _And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching._
May you light up another soul, it may be the source of light to your own soul.
Blessings and stay safe!
