FAMILY SERIES: DEFINING GENERATIONS

Ruth 4:13,17 (KJV): “So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife… and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.”

One of the beautiful truths revealed in Scripture is that God does not deal with men in isolation; He often works through family lines, generations, and destinies that extend far beyond a single lifetime. This means that what a man does with God today can speak powerfully into the lives of his children tomorrow.

This truth shines clearly in the story of Ruth. Ruth was a Moabitess, a descendant of Lot. Lot had once walked with Abraham and shared in the blessing of that relationship. Though Abraham and Lot later separated, there had once been a genuine bond between them. Yet over time, their descendants—the Moabites and the children of Israel—grew apart and eventually became hostile toward one another.

But God is never careless with covenant, and He never forgets what men once shared in Him. When the Lord brought Ruth into the family of Boaz, He was doing far more than arranging a marriage for a widow in need. In bringing a Moabitess into the lineage of Boaz, and ultimately into the lineage that would lead to David and to Christ, God was mending an old breach. It was as though, in His mercy, He was honoring what Lot and Abraham had once shared. What a profound mystery.

God can use the obedience, faith, and consecration of one generation to open doors of mercy, restoration, and blessing in another. He can take what seemed lost in one family story and weave it back into His purpose through another life surrendered to Him.

Beloved, never think your walk with God concerns you alone. The choices you make today in your devotion to God may become the foundation upon which your children stand tomorrow. Hallelujah!

PREPARING YOUR FUTURE THROUGH THE WORD

Hebrews 2:5 (KJV): “For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.”

The world to come has not been placed in subjection to angels—but to man. In simple terms, the future belongs to us.

When the Bible goes on to say, “whereof we speak” it means that the gospel, the Word of God, is a projection of the future. It allows you to see five, ten, twenty or more years ahead and define those years.

When you open Scripture, you are reading the blueprint of your future.

This is why neglecting Scripture is dangerous. A person who does not study the Word is bleak about the years ahead. If you ask such a person where they think they will be in the next five years, they may either guess or have no idea.

The danger of this state is that the future of such a Christian is defined by the world and its many winds of change.

However, the believer anchored in Scripture does not guess about tomorrow—they see it and align their decisions today with what God has revealed about their destiny. Hallelujah!

HOW TO GROW IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD: FAITHFULNESS IN THE LITTLE

Luke 16:10 (KJV): “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”

Greater depth in knowing God is determined by how faithfully you apply the truth He has already given you.

For example, the Bible says in Luke 17: 3-4, “Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.”

From this scripture, we understand that God demands that we forgive our brethren when they repent. Yet when the opportunity arises, a believer may refuse to do so. He may hold onto the offense and justify the bitterness.

However, that same person may kneel and pray, “Lord, I want to know You more.” Such a person cannot go deeper in the knowledge of God because they have not been faithful in the little and as such cannot be trusted with more. In refusing to forgive, they have rejected God and His knowledge.

The path to deeper knowledge of God is found in daily, faithful application of the truths that have been revealed to you.

RESPONDING TO THE WORD.

𝔻𝕠𝕟'𝕥 𝕁𝕦𝕤𝕥 ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕀𝕥 𝕀𝕟 𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕄𝕚𝕟𝕕, 𝕍𝕠𝕚𝕔𝕖 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕎𝕠𝕣𝕕𝕤 𝔸𝕝𝕠𝕦𝕕.

All grace—every favour and earthly blessing—comes to me in overflowing abundance. I am furnished and fully supplied for every good work. I am never without help, never without answers, and never without the supply of the Spirit. The Word of God in my heart propels me into righteousness and causes me to fulfil my glorious destiny in Christ. All things are working together for my good, and every detail of my life aligns with God’s perfect will for me. I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. I take full possession of my inheritance and walk daily in divine health, strength, and prosperity. Christ is mingled with my spirit; therefore, sickness, weakness, and disease cannot attach themselves to me. Eternal life is at work in every fibre of my being. My health, business, finances, and family are preserved by God’s Spirit and surrounded by an innumerable company of angels.

I have access to the inexhaustible and unfathomable riches of Christ. I am Abraham’s seed, an heir according to the promise and a joint-heir with Jesus. I am blessed in the city, blessed in the field, blessed in my going out and my coming in. Special favour attends me. My gates are open continually, receiving resources, ideas, opportunities, and people drawn to me by the Spirit of God. I live in abundance, increase, and ceaseless supply. I acknowledge the treasures in my spirit and bring them into manifestation through my faith-filled words. I exude excellence, beauty, perfection, wisdom, and grace in all that I do. The wisdom of God is at work in me; I am prudent, insightful, and extraordinarily intelligent. Knowledge of witty inventions flows through me. Counsel is mine, sound wisdom is mine, and divine discretion guides my decisions. There is nothing beyond my ability because Christ is my excellent wisdom.

I am a victor in Christ Jesus. Fear, doubt, and unbelief have no place in me. I live a transcendent life, far above the systems and limitations of this world. I refuse discouragement, for greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. The glory of God is evident in my finances, health, family, ministry, and destiny. My body responds only to the Word. I am ever radiant, ever strong, ever triumphant. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me and vitalises my entire being. He repels sickness, disease, death, poverty, and failure from my life. I am who God says I am. I have what He says I have. I can do what He says I can do. I am an embodiment of the fullness of His blessings—walking in prosperity, righteousness, victory, and eternal life. In Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.

THEME: AN AFFIRMATION OF TRIUMPH

I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting (1 Timothy 2:8).

The Bible enjoins us to pray with our hands lifted. This isn’t a mere gesture; it’s a spiritual signal of victory, an affirmation of victory. Something happens when you lift your hands in prayer, praise and worship to the Lord.

Think about Moses, when he lifted his hands during Israel’s battle with Amalek; Israel prevailed. But when his hands grew weary and came down, the enemy prevailed (Exodus 17:11).

But Aaron and Hur had to wisely improvise to make his hands stay perpetually lifted (Read the whole account in Exodus 17). When the hands were lifted, victory was assured. They discovered something spiritual that worked; something not even commanded in the Law. Then over in the New Testament, Paul reaffirms the same truth as read in our opening scripture.

Lifting your hands in prayer opens your spirit to divine inspiration, strength and power. It makes no difference the challenges you might be facing right now; perhaps this is what you haven’t done consistently yet. Every so often, lift your hands as you pray. Lift them in faith as a sign that you’ve prevailed.

Sometimes, as you pray, the Spirit of God may even move you to stretch your hand in a particular direction; this is spiritual. Remember Elisha told the king, “Open the window eastward…and shoot” (2 Kings 13:17). It was a prophetic action with spiritual significance.

In the same way, when you lift your hands in prayer, you’re enacting victory in the realm of the Spirit; it’s an affirmation of triumph. As you pray with lifted hands, utter words by the Spirit, knowing that in Christ Jesus, you’re victorious forever. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the power of prayer and the blessing of lifting my hands to you in faith, signalling victory and dominion. By the Spirit, I prevail always; I walk in strength, boldness and endless triumph, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MARRIAGE SERIES: THE PLACE OF HAPPINESS

Genesis 2:24 (KJV): “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

The world often teaches a subtle but powerful fallacy: Get married so you can be happy.

Marriage is presented as the cure for loneliness, dissatisfaction, or emotional emptiness. It is marketed as the ultimate path to personal fulfilment. Those who believe happiness is the goal easily abandon the marriage covenant when emotions cool or conflict arises.

But happiness was never the foundation upon which God designed marriage. While happiness is a beautiful fruit of a healthy marriage, it is not its central purpose.

You should enter Marriage with the Knowledge that God is your fulfilment. Do not look to a spouse to fill what only Christ can satisfy. Seek fulfillment in God first.

Instead of measuring success in marriage only by happiness, measure it by growth in patience, humility, forgiveness, and love.

It is also very important to guard against cultural narratives. Resist the pressure to compare your marriage to idealized portrayals. Hollywood or social media should not be your template.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Happiness was never the foundation upon which God designed marriage. While happiness is a beautiful fruit of a healthy marriage, it is not its central purpose.

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for the gift and sacred design of marriage. I am delivered from shallow expectations shaped by factors outside Your Word. You refine my attitude. You shape my character. My marriage reflects Christ—faithful, sacrificial, and enduring. And in the process, produces a joy that is deep and lasting. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TOPIC ✨ THE GOSPEL OF DELIVERANCE✨

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).

Someone once asked why I don’t preach on “deliverance”; I actually do, but not in the way some expect. I believe the Word of God brings true deliverance, and the moment you receive Christ, you’re delivered. The Gospel itself is the Gospel of deliverance.

Salvation comes by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection. That confession of His lordship is deliverance in itself because the lordship of Jesus Christ over your life completely broke the dominion of Satan. You can’t have Jesus as Lord of your life and, at the same time, have Satan ruling over you; that’s impossible.

Now, some worry about what they call generational bo***ge or curses. But the Bible already gives the answer to that in 2 Corinthians 5:17. It says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” That means the problem some Christians have is not bo***ge but ignorance. There’s a mentality some still carry that has kept them defeated, oppressed and in satanic strongholds. But what did the Lord Jesus say, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). The truth is that in Christ, you’ve been begotten into a new life, a living hope by His resurrection. Hallelujah!

When He died, you died with Him. When He was buried, you were buried with Him. When God raised Him from the dead, you were raised together with Him. Now the Bible says, “Giving thanks unto the Father… Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:12-13).

Thus, the true deliverance is the lordship of Jesus Christ over your life. Now that you’re in Him, you’re seated in the highest place of authority, dominion and power. Ephesians 2:6 says you’ve been raised up together and made to sit together with Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 1:21 describes this seat of power as “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians 1:21). You’re superior to Satan; you therefore don’t need any deliverance from him.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for my glorious life in Christ and the blessed liberty of the Spirit to love you, fellowship with you, serve you and live for you. Thank you for the victory and dominion I have over Satan and the powers of darkness. I live free, bold, and triumphant every day, walking in the truth of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

WISDOM TO START YOUR DAY

Psalm 118:24 KJV: “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

How you begin your day has a significant impact on how the rest of it unfolds. It is not surprising that a person who consistently starts their day with gladness and gratitude often experiences favor and attracts opportunities.

Our theme scripture reminds us that whenever we wake up to face a new day, we must do so with the understanding that it is the day the Lord has made.

What does this mean?

God does not create a day without filling it with good things for your benefit. Psalm 68:19 declares, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”

A day made by God is designed to advantage you—to increase you, to cause you to progress, to elevate you, to multiply your blessings, and to make you shine.

Therefore, the moment you open your eyes in the morning, do so with the consciousness that God has prepared the day for your good.

Thank God intentionally for the gift of life and for the opportunities the day holds. Declare, the things you expect to receive from Him. Speak about open doors, divine connections, favor, and everything working together for your good. Allow your spirit to align with heaven before you engage with the demands of the day.

That is how we begin our day. Hallelujah!
