Yesterday, the Royal Military Police in Kenya held a fundraiser in support of Great Hope Children’s Home. For more than 5 years, the support and partnership from the Royal Military Police and the wider UK community has continued to make a real difference in the lives of our children and community.

💜 Welcome to the Great Hope Family 💜

Francis Mwangi and Shadrack Jones are from Murang’a, where they were displaced due to difficult family circumstances. They later came to Nanyuki with their mother and stayed with an aunt under very challenging living conditions. Sadly, their mother became seriously ill and was admitted to hospital.

A Good Samaritan later brought the boys to Great Hope Children’s Home, and only a few days afterwards, their mother sadly passed away.

Today, we are grateful to have welcomed Francis and Shadrack into the Great Hope family. They are now safe, cared for, and have joined school as they begin a new journey of hope, healing, and restoration. ❤️

Stories like these continue to remind us why we carry the vision of building a stronger and more sustainable home that will one day support and transform the lives of even more vulnerable children in our community.

Please keep them in your prayers as they adjust to their new environment and future.

Behind everything we do at Great Hope Children’s Home is a dedicated team working faithfully every day. From our cook and cleaners, to our teacher, finance manager, a project manager overseeing our Dairy cows project and gift shop. each of you plays a vital role in caring for the children and keeping the home running.

Your commitment, patience, and hard work do not go unnoticed. You are a big part of the love, stability, and hope we are building together for these children.

🎓✨ New Beginnings for Our Children at Great Hope Children’s Home ✨🎓

We are excited and proud to share that three of our children have been admitted to high school this year!

⭐ Mary Kadogo – Scored highly and earned a place at Garrisson.
⭐ Collins – A motivated young man joining Ontulili Boys. After seeing the cost of admission, he even offered his own 50 Kenya shillings — a small amount in money, but a powerful act of commitment and gratitude.
⭐ Solomon – Is about to Joining Olmoran, ready to begin this next chapter with hope and determination.

These milestones remind us that the success of Great Hope is built by all of us together — every prayer, every act of kindness, and every bit of support, no matter how small.

We pray for God’s guidance and favour over their journey as they step into this new season of learning and growth. 🙏

💻✨ New Beginnings at Great Hope Children’s Home ✨💻

We’re excited to share that we’ve officially started a computer class for our children here at Great Hope! 📚🖥️

This space will help our children gain basic computer skills, confidence, and exposure to digital learning, opening doors to new opportunities and a brighter future.

We are truly grateful to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Step by step, we are preparing our children for the world ahead. 🌱

Camp Hope – Impact & Gratitude 🌟

We are truly grateful to everyone who supported Camp Hope, now in its 5th year, at Great Hope Children’s Home. Because of your generosity, we were able to host over 150 youths, alongside the children from our home, in a safe and encouraging environment.

Throughout the camp, young people took part in spiritual growth, empowerment sessions, sports, life-skills training, and health education including first aid, dental hygiene, and menstrual hygiene for girls.

We were also able to fully utilise our newly completed toilets and bathrooms, which played a vital role in supporting hygiene, dignity, and smooth running of the camp for such a large number of participants.

Your support is helping shape confident, hopeful, and empowered young people.

🎄 Christmas Reflections at Great Hope Children’s Home 🎄

This Christmas season was truly special for our children at Great Hope Children’s Home. We had the opportunity to step outside the home and give the children a well-deserved treat — a time filled with fun activities, swimming, cycling, laughter, and shared joy. These moments allowed the children to experience Christmas in a refreshing and meaningful way.

One of the highlights was our visit to an airstrip, where the children were introduced to different types of aircraft, their parts, and how they work. For many of them, this was a first-time experience — getting close to a plane and learning about aviation sparked excitement, curiosity, and new dreams. We believe experiences like these help broaden horizons and inspire future ambitions.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this possible. Your support — financial, physical, emotional, and through prayer — continues to make a real difference in the lives of our children. Because of you, we are able to create moments that build confidence, joy, and hope.
