Shulmai Conservancy Rangers in the 2025 World Rangers Challenge!

We are proud to announce that our dedicated rangers are taking part in the 2025 World Rangers Challenge, a global event that brings together ranger teams from across Africa to test their endurance, teamwork, and field skills. This year challenge will be held in Lewa conservancy on 20th September 2025.

The Challenge is more than just a competition, it is a platform that celebrates the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of rangers who stand in the frontline of conservation. From the rangers quiz, to the push up challenge, the sit up challenge all culminates in a 21 km race carrying weight of 22 Kgs at the back.

Our involvement in this year WRC showcases the vital role community rangers play in safeguarding biodiversity and promoting peaceful coexistence between people and wildlife.

We stand behind them with pride and wish them success as they take on this incredible journey. Join us in celebrating our conservation heroes!

In Shulmai Conservancy Laikipia, beadwork, a thriving nature-based enterprise is transforming lives and reinforcing conservation goals. Here, women make beautiful Maasai attire which are showcased at exhibitions, sold in a dedicated shop in Nanyuki, and even marketed to a global audience via TikTok.

The income enables women to educate their children, sustain their families, and participate in table banking which provides small loans to purchase materials, expand production, and grow their businesses.

The ripple effect goes beyond individual households. Shulmai Conservancy receives 5% of the annual proceeds, supporting conservation operations and funding community development projects such as the construction of manyattas and the purchase of water tanks.

This is a powerful example of how alternative sources of livelihood and conservation can work hand in hand to create lasting impact.
