We've launched in Murupusi!

In partnership with , 10 community members in Murupusi Community Land have been equipped with cameras for two weeks to document their own experiences of landscape restoration — and how Earth Observation data connects (or doesn't) with pastoralist life on the ground.

This project puts the camera — and the narrative — in community hands. With Free, Prior and Informed Consent secured from the Community Land Management Committee (CLMC), participants will share what restoration really looks and feels like from where they stand.

Next up: a second workshop for reflection, storytelling, and co-developing outputs together.

We are currently undertaking biomass assessment at both analog and treated sites to systematically evaluate the availability, condition, and spatial distribution of vegetation resources, particularly grasses, shrubs, and browse species. The findings provide critical evidence to inform rangeland restoration planning, sustainable grazing management, wildlife habitat support, and drought preparedness strategies, which are essential for strengthening resilience in pastoral landscapes across northern Kenya.

we successfully concluded the Super Umoja Tournament at Kimanjo. The tournament brought together 26 teams from across the Laikipia and Isiolo landscapes, with representation from Samburu.

The event ran smoothly throughout, fostering sportsmanship, peace, and collaboration among the participating teams

We produced a film that will be used as an impact tool to engage, educate, and inspire the community.

Most importantly, the tournament achieved its primary objective of uniting young people across the landscape, strengthening bonds of unity, coexistence, and shared purpose.

Green Earth Warriors had a powerful opportunity to connect and share ideas on how conservation agriculture—through our innovative mushroom project—can shift mindsets and uplift livelihoods among pastoral communities across Northern Kenya.
Together, we're growing more than mushrooms—we're growing resilience.

We recently concluded an intensive two-day training at Lekuruki and Il Ngwesi Community Conservancies, focusing on land restoration techniques. The training covered the implementation of semi-circular bunds and fanya chini interventions—proven methods for rehabilitating degraded landscapes and improving soil and water conservation.

This impactful initiative was made possible through our valued partnership with the Association, whose collaboration continues to support sustainable land management across the landscape.

We were honoured to host the Swiss Ambassador to Kenya and the East Africa region, H.E. Mirko Giulietti, during his visit to our projects.

He was impressed by the simplicity and replicability of the models we’ve developed, and even more inspired by the strong sense of community ownership driving their sustainability.

We later joined our partners at the Wyss Academy office, where the Ambassador shared insights on the vital role organizations play in shaping impactful, locally-led solutions.

We visited semicircular bund sites across Oldonyiro and Naibunga conservancies, ending at Maiyanat, to assess progress and identify challenges. With partners from ,@ PARC, nature Conservancy, and , we were joined by 3 Churo community members from Baringo and a chief to learn from Laikipia and Isiolo restoration efforts.

In Kachilitwa-Baringo county, Tiaty East, we assessed a 100-acre degraded area, once a swampy salt lick with native Pennisetum grass. We chose 40 acres for restoration using bunds, trenches, stone lines, and aloe.

Four women groups are leading the work, supported by trained technicians. We planted Maasai love grass and African foxtail to bring life back to the land.

We had the opportunity to attend an insightful workshop on Sustainable Waste Management and Circular Economy, hosted by the Rotary Foundation in partnership with Meru University and UTAR (Malaysia).

The forum brought together researchers, county officials, and community leaders to share innovations, highlight best practices, and address gaps—especially in waste segregation skills. A great space for learning and potential collaboration!

🌿 Showcasing Innovation at the Science Expo 🌿
We were honored to exhibit our Elephant Mushroom innovation at the National Museums of Kenya during the Science Expo under the theme: "Economic Transformation Through Heritage Conservation."

This platform was more than just an exhibition; it was a bridge.
A bridge to connect with markets, learn from other innovators, and gain new insights on how heritage and biodiversity can drive sustainable livelihoods.

Our Elephant Mushroom project, grown using elephant dung, sparked conversations around conservation, food security, and creative reuse of nature’s resources.

We left inspired, better connected, and encouraged to keep merging science, culture, and community innovation.
Special thanks to the organizers and all the brilliant minds we interacted with!
