Hello GOOD PEOPLE, look at what we've achieved as a community. A young mother didn't keep quiet about her troubles. And for that, a little girl has been accepted at Lanet Secondary School, in grade 10. 🤝
Note: We reached out to office of the MP, Hon Irene Njoki, through Collins Etaba (Dede), and they paid Shirleen's full fees for term one and two. The girl and the mother are speechless and so grateful. As a community, we are too.
Allow me to take you through the whole situation.
When Caro reached out to me, she was devastated and hopeless. But she felt lucky to be part of something. Nakuru, Lanet Youth Empowerment Group. Stuck with a brilliant child, without school fees, uniforms and other requirements, walls around her were closing in. But because of her bravery, she reached out to fellow youths, to good people of Lanet.
Today, Shirleen Mwashigadi was accepted, awarded an admission number, a meal card, a seat, a desk and got in Longonot House, grade 10.
Allow me to thank all members of this GODSENT group. I also want to thank our Welfare department, pioneered by our able Madam Sec (Florah Mutembei), HRM (Gloria Kisali) and Cluster leader (Keziah Kiondo). I will go ahead and thank our projects coordinator (Nelson Mandela) and Collins Maina, for sacrificing their time, and being there all the steps of the way.
For our well-wishers, viongozi wetu, Maina, Wacarrots, Doc, CarolMtrue, Kifaru, Fullbread, Golden Snails, Kamau Destiny and Hon Ngarama. Asanteni Sana. I know you all had a lot on your plates, but still came through for the little girl. Mbarikiwe Sana.🙏
Let me make something clear, everyone here came through, it doesn't matter the little or the much you contributed. Even those who didn't get the chance to participate, but did not oppose the course, we thank you.
Mbele iko sawa. 🤝
