Have you read 1 Samuel chapter 25, the story of Nabal, Abigael and David. Nabal pretending to not know David to and denying him food, even for the mere fact that David had protected his flock annoyed David, and he goes to revenge but we thank God for Abigael. Abigail behaved in a humble way when she bent down on her knees. She gave David great respect and honour when she spoke to him. Abigail agreed that Nabal was wicked. But she appealed to David not to behave in the wrong way. She did not use her gift of food to persuade David. Instead she reminded him to trust the Lord. The Lord would protect David. And the Lord would deal with David’s enemies, including Nabal. Abigail knew that David would be king of Israel. She did not want him to be guilty about anything. In verse 31 Abigail said, ‘When the Lord gives you success, please remember me’. These words are similar to Joseph’s in Genesis 40:14.

David knew that God had sent Abigail to him. He accepted her wise advice and her present. David and his men got their meal. David trusted the Lord to deal with Saul. But David nearly made a mistake because of his wrong anger. The result of this would have been serious. God was kind to David and saved him. Deuteronomy 32:35 and Romans 12:17-21 (refs2) say that God will deal with every wrong act. We must never punish people who hurt us. Instead, we must do good things to them. We should trust the Lord who is a fair judge. The story ends with Nabal dying out of shock, God avenged for David, we should never try to avenge when something annoys us, leave it for the Lord, again, be kind with your blessing given to you. God bless you

Num 33:4 KJV For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments. The plagues for the Egyptians was God executing Judgement on false gods of Egypt

Pro 4:23 KJV Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.By the heart is meant the center of existence, the whole of who a person is as a human being, with his mind, his will and his feelings. In that center, the Word of God must be given its place.
The heart must be guarded, we must watch what comes into it. When good comes in, good comes out. What comes out comes out through mouth and lipsChristians should be careful that they keep the heart with all diligence. They should cultivate a love for meditation, and cherish a spirit of devotion. Many seem to begrudge moments spent in meditation, and the searching of the Scriptures, and prayer, as though the time thus occupied was lost. I wish you could all view these things in the light God would have you; for you would then make the kingdom of heaven of the first importance. To keep your heart in heaven, will give vigor to all your graces, and put life into all your duties. To discipline the mind to dwell upon heavenly things, will put life and earnestness into all our endeavors. Our efforts are languid, and we run the Christian race slowly, and manifest indolence and sloth, because we so little value the heavenly prize. We are dwarfs in spiritual attainments. It is the privilege and duty of the Christian to be "increasing in the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." [Ephesians 4:13.] As exercise increases the appetite, and gives strength and healthy vigor to the body, so will devotional exercises bring an increase of grace and spiritual vigor. 3BC 1157.5
