🌍 Happy World Environment Day 2026! 🌱

Today, we join millions around the world in celebrating our shared responsibility to protect and restore the environment for present and future generations.

At World Nature's Organization, we believe that empowered communities are at the heart of climate action and environmental conservation. Every tree planted, every river protected, every waste item recycled, and every sustainable choice made contributes to a healthier planet.

As we mark this important day, let us commit to taking action in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. Together, we can build a greener, cleaner, and more resilient future.

🌳 Plant a tree.
💧 Conserve water.
♻️ Reduce waste.
🌍 Protect nature.

Small actions today create a better tomorrow for all.

Lake Nakuru National Park is a critical ecosystem, home to diverse wildlife and an important environmental asset not only to Nakuru County but to the nation at large. Any threat to such ecosystems highlights the urgent need for stronger environmental protection, preparedness, and community awareness.
We commend the response teams involved and call for transparent investigations to help prevent future occurrences.
Let us all remain vigilant and committed to safeguarding our natural heritage for present and future generations.

🌍 Ground Visit Today | Preparing for Action
Today, World Nature’s Organization welcomed visitors who came to see, feel, and understand the reality on the ground ahead of upcoming environmental activities.
The visit focused on familiarization of the sites where we plan to: 🌱 Conduct a clean-up and tree planting exercise along the Nakuru National Park fence, and
🏫 Carry out tree planting in a local school, engaging young people in environmental conservation.
During the visit, the guests were accompanied and guided by our Field Coordinator, Community Mobilizer, and Environmental Trainer, whose insights and local knowledge helped provide a clear understanding of the environmental needs and opportunities on the ground. We are truly grateful for their dedication and leadership.
This visit marks the beginning of a meaningful collaboration. The visitors will be returning soon together with students from their country to participate in these activities, working alongside the local community to protect nature and inspire environmental stewardship.
We believe lasting impact begins with understanding, partnership, and action.
Together, we protect nature. Together, we grow the future. 💚🌱

Congratulations on completing the tree hugging! What a beautiful and powerful moment standing in connection with nature, showing love, courage, and intention. This may look simple to others, but it takes heart, presence, and a deep appreciation for the environment.

We are so proud of you for doing it. May this small act grow into even bigger steps in conservation, wellness, and personal strength. Keep shining and embracing every moment with the same bold spirit.

Well done, Muthoni!

A young girl from Nyeri is rewriting history not through noise, but through love for nature.
Truphena Muthoni is hugging a tree for 72 hours to break her own record and remind us all:
Nature heals, nature sustains, nature deserves our protection. 🌳

World Nature’s Organization stands with her for the trees, for our climate, for future generations.
Let’s cheer her on!

Farewell, Kimani 🕊️

Today, we laid to rest a bright and promising young journalist — Kimani. His passion for storytelling, his courage, and his gift for connecting with people left a mark far beyond his years.

As night falls, our hearts remain heavy, yet filled with gratitude for the light he shared while he was here. His journey reminds us of the silent battles many face and the urgent need to speak openly about mental health — to listen, to care, and to stand with one another.

From all of us at World Nature’s Organization, we send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his story continue to inspire understanding, empathy, and hope. 💚

Mental health has been a silent monster in our society — claiming lives, dreams, and potential every single day.

Today, we mourn the loss of Kimani Mbugua, who had been bravely battling mental illness for some time. His passing is a painful reminder that mental health struggles are real and need urgent attention.

As a nation, we must do more — talk openly, offer support, and treat mental wellness with the same seriousness as physical health. Let’s fight stigma, listen more, and stand by those silently fighting their battles.

🕊️ Rest in peace, Kimani. Your story should be the wake-up call that drives change.
