We joined the Cabinet Secretary Gender,culture and children services Hon Hannah Cheptumo, Nakuru County Government ,Development Partners, Civil society organizations , distinguished guests and leaders for this year's International Women's Day under the theme “Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls,” held at the Nakuru Athletics Club grounds.

Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protect the rights of women and the girl child, pledging decisive action to end gender-based violence, harmful cultural practices such as Female Ge***al Mutilation, and the rising cases of femicide.

The landmark event signaled a new era of bold leadership and advocacy, with many noting that such a strong and transformative gathering in support of women and girls has never been witnessed before. Women and Youth Empowerment and Advocacy Centre- wyemac continues to advance gender equality and advocacy on Socio-economic and political issues that affect women by partnering with like minded organizations.

Today our Executive director joined the MCA Solai Hon Nixon for the MCA tournament finals at Emarangishu primary in solai ward. Football matches,hand ball and volleyball for both men and women were played.This initiative promotes and nature talent especially amongst the youth and promoting peace and social cohesion.
Agrodeal dominated the football category, securing victory in both the men and women's finals while Murrum FC (Men) and Kamosop FC(women) won the volleyball titles. Tiger FC lifted the men's handball trophy.Congratulations to all teams.Huduma Mashinani and IEBC were also present offering essential services to the residents and carrying out continuous voter registration respectively.Wyemac continues to partner with such initiatives that focus on youth empowerment and advancing our mission.

📢 of Activism against Gender-Based Violence begins today,this year's theme is "UNiTE to End Digital Violence against Women and Girls"
Our collective focus will be on 1.Governments;they must end impunity through laws that penalize it.
2.Technology companies;they must ensure the safety of platforms and remove
harmful content.
3.Donors and development partners;there is need for adequate funding for these to be realistic.
Fact is digital violence is real violence and there is for online abuse.Not Now .Not Ever

A great Milestone for the Youth of Baringo County.Together with other partners,we were privileged to join the Baringo county government for the commissioning of Kabarnet one Stop Youth Empowerment Centre. The Centre is designed as a one-stop hub, fully equipped with a conferencing facility, ICT centre, music recording studio, library, and indoor recreational space. Truly, a game changer for the Youth in Baringo county!
We are deeply grateful to H.E. Governor Benjamin Cheboi, EBS, EGH for the invite and for his unwavering support in making this dream a reality. Special appreciation to Dr. Oita Etyang, Head of Governance at COMESA, and the Horn of Africa Youth Network brigade for their invaluable partnership.The event was also graced by CECMs, COs and directors from various ministries and departments within the county.
