Yesterday, we joined Nyandarua residents in Kinangop, Kipipiri, Olkalou, Oljororok and Ndaragwa sub counties for public participation on the Nyandarua County Finance Bill 2025/26 conducted by Nyandarua County Assembly.
We shared our recommendations, mainly emphasizing the need for , including accessible ward-level forums, dissemination of information, and clear feedback on which citizen proposals are adopted or declined.

Last week, with the support of CARE and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition through the , ACDC facilitated a Nutrition Budget Making and Civic Engagement workshop for CBOs and Nutrition Champions in Nyandarua County.
Through the workshop, participants strengthened their capacity to analyze nutrition budgets, track resource allocation across the budget cycle and effectively engage in county planning and budgeting processes. They also gained practical skills in advocacy, evidence-based decision-making and meaningful public participation, empowering them to champion increased and accountable investment in nutrition at the community and county levels.

Yesterday we joined Nyandarua residents for of the Nyandarua County FY 2026/27.
We shared our recommendations mainly highlighting the need for , including ward-level fora & clear feedback on which citizen proposals are accepted or rejected and why.
We raised concerns on the low performance within the first half of FY 2025/26, questioning the realism of the Kshs 650M OSR target for FY 2026/27, emphasizing that projections must be grounded in performance trends to avoid .
On expenditure, we flagged the low development and the lack of on the County Assembly’s half-year expenditure performance. We called for specific corrective actions and timelines to accelerate implementation.
We also questioned the Kshs 200M allocation for , noting that if the bills stand at Kshs 5.1 billion as recently raised by the County Public Accounts Committee, this allocation addresses less than 4% of the arrears.

As part of our youth empowerment initiative, yesterday, in collaboration with the Kipipiri Sub County Health team, we conducted a school outreach at Mahindu Secondary School where we had an engaging session with the students.
We held an open and dialogue focused on , and , empowering the students to make life choices. The students participated actively, asked bold questions and shared honest reflections about the challenges they face and their aspirations for their future.

This week, we gathered to wrap up 2025 with gratitude for the incredible milestones we achieved and the impact we created in our communities. Together, we took a moment to celebrate our journey and the lessons that have shaped us this year.

Yesterday, ACDC joined Nyandarua County Government and key stakeholders for a follow-up meeting to review progress on the ongoing development of the Nyandarua County Triple Threat Strategy.
This session provided an opportunity to refine the draft, align on priority areas and strengthen the strategy’s focus on addressing the three interlinked challenges affecting adolescents and young people; new HIV infections, unintended pregnancies and gender-based violence through coordinated, evidence-driven and youth-responsive interventions.
During the meeting, stakeholders reviewed recommendations from the initial drafting session, identified gaps requiring further integration and outlined next steps for finalizing the draft ahead of validation and adoption.
With support from TICAH , ACDC remains committed to supporting this collaborative process and contributing to a strategic framework that will guide more effective, multisectoral action to safeguard the health and wellbeing of adolescents and young people across Nyandarua County.
