AGAPE - Hope for Kibera We are a community-based organization in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya, supporting vulnerable families through education and empowerment. For more details;

With Restore Missions Incorporated, we advance innovative learning, teacher training, and women’s entrepreneurship. Agape Hope for Kibera is a self – Help Group which was started in 2006. But got registered in the year 2010. Our Vision: is empowered Community with the capacity to manage HIV and Aids build a positive attitude towards behavioural change. The Mission: Believe in Building partnership

transforming life. We give special attention to orphans, youths and other vulnerable groups affected and infected with HIV / AIDS. We currently work in Nairobi with plans to relocate to other slums in Nairobi. Over the past years we have been embark on OVC programme which currently have 50 children. We currently offer early childhood Education to the children. We also offer a hot lunch and provide children with school uniform. On average each child use 30 dollar per month. This would assist us to help the children. Agape Hope for Kibera mandate is to
i) To give effective information about HIV / AID infection and how to prevent the spread of HIV / Aids and to support people living with HIV. ii) Education on behavioural change and communication and linking community institution for support
iii) Formation and sustaining linkage for the clients
iv) Giving equality care for the children with emphasis on the girl child. We have previously educated the youth through training of youth leader, job placements and skills training e.g. taekwondo, as step to catering for children we have also started the Hope kind club with the intention of raising a society with integrity, Arts / Theatre all these are in an effort to promote clean fun. We have this by networking with churches and EGOs, such as;
i) Free Methodist Church Kibera
ii) Believers fellowship church
iii) Life restoration Church who have called on the children to perform during their function. i) Promotion of clean fun for the youth and children by initiating clean fun activities
ii) We have a public toilet
iii) Home visits
iv) School visits / replacement
v) We also carry our Kibera Tour for organized groups and individuals

The 6th Edition of the Agoal League officially kicked off last week, marking another exciting chapter of growth, opportunity, and impact for our children and community. What started as a simple sports initiative has now grown into a powerful platform that nurtures talent, builds confidence, and promotes teamwork among young people.
This season, the league is bringing together hundreds of children, giving them a safe space to play, learn, and dream. Beyond football, the Agoal League continues to shape discipline, leadership, and hope—especially for children facing daily challenges.
One of the most impactful components of this program is our feeding initiative. Through the league, we are currently supporting 2,400 children with meals, ensuring that every child has the energy and nourishment they need to participate fully and stay healthy. For many of these children, this is more than just a meal—it is a source of strength, motivation, and care.
The combination of sports and nutrition is creating real change. Children are not only developing their talents on the field but are also improving their well-being, school attendance, and overall quality of life.
As we continue with this 6th edition, we remain committed to empowering children, strengthening our community, and creating opportunities that go beyond the Together, we are building a future where every child has a chance to thrive.

Yesterday was a day of action for Agape. We were on the ground supporting 50 families who have been deeply affected by the recent floods
We were able to provide Food and Beddings to the Affected families plus Giving them Hope on never Giving up in life I take this opportunity to Thank the strength of our community and the support of our friends, we were able to provide much-needed relief to those facing these difficult times.

HEARTBREAK IN KIBERA
​While many were sleeping, families in Kibera were battling rising waters. Yesterday’s heavy downpour has left many of our neighbors homeless, with their belongings washed away and their houses destroyed.
​It’s a tragedy that repeats itself every season, but the pain is always new. We need to stand together to help those who have nowhere to sleep tonight.
​📍 Current Situation: Homes submerged, families displaced, and many in need of food and dry bedding.

Ken and I are still pinching ourselves! We were invited to Japan to receive a prestigious award from the Minister of Sport for our work with the Agoal League.
​The event was organized by Sport for Tomorrow, a Japanese government agency that recognizes the power of sport to change the world. It was an honor to represent the Kibera slum and show the world the incredible talent and hard work happening in our football league.
​This award belongs to every player, coach, and supporter of the Agoal League. A huge thank you to our Japanese friends who have walked this journey with us since day one. The future of Kibera football is bright! ⚽️✨
