"In Korogocho slums young women and.girls live on a matter of survival for the fittest so affording a hygience kit is a big miracle."
Most of them utilize what's easily available.for.them torn and.tattered rags posing great risks of infections.
Missing school is a norm because of the shame and stigma due to lack of Sanitary pads.

Meet Lydia Shisia in her early 20s. She joined our ' program back in 2024. Life was hard and full of challenges, but she stood against all odds to show that transformation is real and it can happen as long as one is determined.

"Doing the night street life was traumatising and there was nothing to be proud off,I often felt used and wasted'....Said Lydia."

To date, it has been 2 years, and we have walked with her at Blessed to be a blessing, providing spiritual and psychosocial support with the help of our facilitators and as well as empowering and providing Her with the resource that aligns with her vocational skills( Beautician).

Lydia is now a saloon owner and through her passion and interest, she has begun accumulating a number of cliente and this is a tool that is going to change her life story,economic and social status.

Today we not only celebrate Lydia but also our Partners and entire team that has walked this journey with her.

Korogocho slums has great minds and intelligent girls who struggle to balance and keep life at bay despite the many challanges they go through.
