Unsafe abortions remain a leading cause of preventable deaths among women in Kenya. The recent death of a 21-year-old student in Eldoret is a painful reminder of what restrictive laws and inaccessible services mean in real life.

Women need safe spaces, friendly SRH services, and post-abortion care without stigma. Denial of these rights robs women of health and dignity, and too often of their lives.

We call on the state to review and implement policies that uphold safe abortion and aftercare as a fundamental right. Every woman deserves care that protects life, not endangers it.

We are thrilled to inform you that we will be presenting our abstract “Reproductive Health Drop-In Centers as Catalysts for Inclusive SRH & Rights in Rural Kenya” at the 2025 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) in Bogotá, Colombia.

This milestone highlights our commitment to advancing and for and in rural communities. It is also a chance to bring the voices of grassroots Kenya to the global stage, where policies and partnerships are shaped.

September is . This year, we reaffirm our commitment to amplifying the voices of young people and women in rural Western Kenya.

Many are denied to and because of stigma, lack of accurate information, absence of youth-friendly services, and harmful cultural norms. These barriers deny them dignity, safety, and the right to make informed choices about their bodies and futures.

At LADA, we exist to change this narrative. We work with communities to create safe spaces, provide accurate information, and push for inclusive services that respect the rights of youth and women.
