What does success look like when it comes to delaying sexual debut among adolescents? It means reducing teenage pregnancies, preventing gender-based violence (GBV), and lowering new HIV infections. Keeping adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) meaningfully engaged is not optional,it is essential.
MOYOTE Maarifa Girls dance clues are stepping into that space with confidence and purpose. As they prepare to participate in a dance competition in Kitengela, they are not just showcasing talent, they are building self-esteem, connection, and positive pathways for their future. We look forward to seeing them shine doing what they love most.

What does “age-appropriate SRHR information” really mean?
It means giving the right information, at the right time, in the right way
For younger children:
Simple lessons about their bodies, boundaries, and respect.
For adolescents:
Clear, honest conversations about puberty, relationships, consent, and protection.
For young adults:
Deeper knowledge on reproductive health, rights, choices, and access to services.
Age-appropriate SRHR is not about “too much too soon”it’s about protecting, empowering, and preparing young people step by step.
Silence creates confusion.
Information builds confidence and safety.
Let’s create spaces where young people can ask, learn, and grow without fear.

Let’s shake the table a little!

Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights(SRHR )is NOT a luxury. It’s NOT “too much information.” And it’s definitely NOT something to whisper about in corners.

It is POWER.It is PROTECTION.It is FREEDOM.

So why is it still so hard to access?
Information should be age-appropriate, clear, and accessible .
Services should be youth-friendly, safe, and NON-judgmental .
No one should feel ashamed for seeking care. PERIOD.

Let’s be honest…How many young people walk into a clinic and walk out feeling judged instead of supported?

We need to do better. For our girls. For our boys. For our communities.

Real talk:What has YOUR experience been when seeking SRHR services? Safe space or silent judgment?

Today marks a historic milestone in Kenya’s HIV response. The launch of Lenacapavir as an additional option for HIV prevention expands choice, strengthens protection, and brings us one step closer to ending HIV as a public health threat by 2030.
This breakthrough reinforces Kenya’s commitment to innovation, equity, and people-centered prevention, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey toward an HIV-free generation. The conversation around integration of HIV services has been ongoing for years , and now it is finally here with us.
Yet many people still don’t fully understand what integration really means. Some are fearful. Others are hearing myths and misinformation. Is it the end of specialized HIV care? Will quality reduce? Or is this a chance to improve access, dignity, and efficiency under one roof?
Let’s unpack the facts, address the fears, and separate truth from myth.
Join Moyote kenya X Chat today at 8:00 PM as we discuss: • What HIV services integration really means
• The benefits and possible challenges
• How to safeguard quality care and prevent stock-outs
• What this shift means for communities and health systems
One roof. All services. Better care.
Don’t miss this important conversation.

In Nairobi’s informal settlements, adolescent girls and young women continue to face a disproportionate burden of HIV shaped by gender inequality, economic hardship, limited opportunities and harmful social norms.

That is why we proudly launched our Policy Brief on gender-affirmative strategies in addressing HIV and AIDS,a bold call to move beyond conversation into action.

Titled “Transforming the Lives of Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Nairobi’s Informal Settlements,” the brief highlights practical, evidence informed solutions that place gender equality at the center of HIV prevention.

Because prevention is about:
✔ Safe spaces
✔ Economic empowerment
✔ Youth responsive health services
✔ Protection from violence
✔ Meaningful participation of young women in decision making

The launch convened policymakers, civil society, community leaders, health practitioners and youth representatives to align on one shared commitment: investing in adolescent girls and young women is investing in healthier communities.

We call upon stakeholders across sectors to champion and implement these recommendations. Together, we can accelerate progress toward ending HIV and AIDS while ensuring that no adolescent girl or young woman is left behind.

MOYOTE fully supports the NASCOP directive cautioning against claims of miracle healing that encourage people living with HIV to stop or avoid medical treatment.
We acknowledge and respect the role of faith, prayer, and spiritual support in promoting hope and emotional well-being. However, these should complement, not replace evidence-based medical care. Interrupting or abandoning treatment due to claims of miracle healing poses serious risks to individual and public health.
We strongly encourage all people living with HIV to adhere to antiretroviral therapy (ART) as prescribed and to seek guidance from qualified healthcare providers. Scientific evidence clearly shows that consistent treatment saves lives and prevents transmission.
We call upon faith leaders, community influencers, and the general public to partner with health authorities, promote accurate information, and protect the dignity, health, and lives of all people.
We remains committed to supporting national HIV response efforts, safeguarding public health, and advancing informed, compassionate, and responsible messaging NSDCC Division of National AIDS and STI Control Program The Ministry of Health Aden Duale Nephak Global Network of People living with HIV (GNP+) Y_Plus
