Global Warming: Severe Consequences for Africa
Africa continues to bear a disproportionate burden of global warming despite contributing the least to global emissions.
Rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, unpredictable rainfall, and extreme flooding are already affecting food security, water availability, health systems, and livelihoods across the continent.
As highlighted by the United Nations, climate change is intensifying existing vulnerabilities in Africa, threatening development gains and increasing the risk of displacement and conflict.
Urgent global action is needed to cut emissions and support adaptation efforts, especially for the most affected communities.
