After an exciting three-day tournament dubbed Speak Up Bro," an initiative by Twaweza Community Based Organisation, eight grassroots teams came together in a powerful display of talent, teamwork, and community spirit.

The tournament was more than just footballβ€”it was a platform for bringing young people together, strengthening bonds, and encouraging open conversations around mental health and well-being. The energy from the players, fans, and community members who turned up in large numbers made the event truly memorable.

Day one of the Speak Up Bro Tournament was packed with high energy and fierce determination at the Calvary Grounds. Every team left it all on the pitch, reminding us of the power of community as we continue to use football as a tool for mental health advocacy.

The knockout stage is officially behind us. Now, the final four teams will battle it out to see who proceeds to the grand finale!

A month ago, this canal was completely clogged with waste. Today, we are seeing progress, but the work is far from over.

Guided by our mantra, β€œEnvironment First,” we are proud to stand alongside like-minded organizations such as Angaza North Youth SHG, Wahenga Youth, Kayole Bidii Yetu, and Kayole Community Justice, together with other partners across Kayole, who are taking action to restore our environment.

This is what community power looks like, but we need more hands, more voices, and more responsibility.
