As we prepare for our Modern Farming Technology & Vertical Gardens Sensitization Training on 1st and 2nd July, VONEK is excited to continue empowering communities with practical, sustainable solutions that improve livelihoods and strengthen food security.

In partnership with St. Therese Technical & Vocational College and other stakeholders, we will equip youth, women, farmers, and community members with hands-on skills in vertical gardening, hydroponics, and climate-smart agriculture. These innovative farming techniques make it possible to grow nutritious food in small spaces while conserving water and protecting the environment.

We invite everyone to join us as we learn, innovate, and work together towards building resilient, food-secure communities. The future of agriculture is sustainable, and it begins with each one of us.

The NYDA, in partnership with Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), the University of South Africa (Unisa), and the Linguistic Society of Southern Africa (LSSA), proudly presents the Emerging Voices Essay Writing Competition.

Competition Categories:

Category A: High School Learners (Grades 8–12)

Category B: Young Creatives & Youth Professionals (18–35 years)

As South Africa commemorates 50 years since the Soweto Uprising, young people are invited to share their perspectives on language, identity, memory, resistance, and the future of South Africa through creative essay writing.
