*DAY TWO OF THE NYS ALUMNI E-MOBILITY DRIVER TRAINEE EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME FOCUSES ON THEORY AND PRACTICAL SKILLS*

The NYS Alumni E-Mobility Driver Trainee Empowerment Programme today entered its second day at NYS Camp-MTB Driving School, with trainees undertaking intensive theoretical and practical training.

The sessions covered electric motorcycle systems, battery technology, road safety, digital platform operations, and customer service, while the practical component focused on riding circuit navigation, routine maintenance, and basic servicing of electric motorcycles. Facilitated by experts from Greenwheels, Uber, ARC Ride, and other industry partners, the programme continues to equip NYS alumni with industry-ready skills for Kenya's growing e-mobility sector.

The NYS Alumni National Executive Committee sincerely appreciates all our partners, facilitators, and the Commanding Officer, NYS Camp-MTB, for their unwavering support as we transform skills into sustainable careers in clean mobility.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NYS ALUMNI E-MOBILITY DRIVER TRAINEE EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME COMMENCES

Following the official launch of the NYS Alumni E-Mobility Driver Trainee Empowerment Programme on 21st July 2026, the programme has now entered its implementation phase at NYS Camp-MTB Driving School.

This week marks the commencement of comprehensive technical training for the discharging drivers' class as they prepare to transition into Kenya's growing electric mobility sector. The programme has brought together technical and operations teams from Greenwheels, Uber, ARC Ride and other key industry players to deliver practical instruction in electric motorcycle operation, servicing, maintanance, road safety, customer service, battery management, digital platform operations, and industry best practices, while facilitating the recruitment and onboarding of successful participants into employment.

On the sidelines of the training, the Patron of NYS Alumni and Deputy Commandant General, Nicholas J. Makokha, HSC, met with the training teams and facilitators to review implementation progress. He commended them for their professionalism and commitment, encouraging them to sustain the momentum throughout the programme.

The NYS Alumni National Executive Committee expresses its sincere appreciation to the Commandant General for supporting this initiative and creating an opportunity for the discharging drivers' class to acquire emerging industry-relevant skills. We also thank the *Commanding Officer, NYS Camp-MTB, Mr. Enock Nyandege*, for his warm hospitality and support, as well as the Greenwheels team led by Head of Operations, Justin Sullivan, Uber, ARC Ride, and all facilitators for their dedication to the programme's success.
