When school closes, millions of children lose access to daily meals.

Families across our communities begin searching for help.
Hunger doesn’t take a vacation. And neither do we.

Give today and help provide food for families this summer.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining the incredible teachers at Anaibtich Primary School in Uasin Gishu County for a unique "Cook-out Sensitization" session.

Under their admirable school policy, teachers taste-test and approve the meals a day before they are served to the students.
Seeing their willingness to lead by example truly deepened my appreciation for these educators they never hesitate to put their students' well-being first!
I am thrilled to share that the teachers thoroughly enjoyed the food and gave it a resounding thumbs-up.
Thanks to their approval, the entire primary school begins the feeding program today!

In my line of duty most of our clients use firewood mostly and the cooking area is normally dark full of smoke.😊

Food is essential, but nutritious food is truly life-changing!

Thanks to our incredible partners, Midwest Food Bank East Africa (KAPU) is able to reach some of the most remote communities. It’s always a beautiful journey, not just because we get to deliver nourishment, but because we get to connect deeply with the people and even learn their local dialects along the way!

Friday’s journey took us deep into Elgeyo Marakwet to visit the amazing kids at Setano Primary School.

It was an incredible collaborative effort! Midwest Food Bank East Africa joined forces with The Amina Myrén Foundation Myrén and Soy Afric to bring nutrition and smiles to these wonderful children.

It took us a challenging 3 and half hours to navigate terrains prone to recent mudslides, but every minute was worth it.
The children were eagerly waiting for a hot, nutritious serving of Nutridence; grain dense meal Containing:rice, dehydrated beans, soy chunks, salt, vitamins, and minerals.

Cooking on an open fire meant braving a lot of smoke, but seeing those smiles made it easy! Our joint activities for the day included:
1️⃣ Anthropometric assessments (monitoring the kids' growth and health metrics)
2️⃣ The big community cookout!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and these photos truly speak volumes about what happens when organizations unite for a cause. ❤️

Partnership in Action!

Yesterday, Midwest Food Bank East Africa Division (KAPU Africa), alongside The Amina Myrén Foundation Amina Myren Foundation and Soy Afric, had the incredible privilege of visiting the Eldoret Children Rescue Center.

We were honored to be hosted by Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Shollei, who was joined by an amazing team from God's Crew Ministry (USA) who have been dedicated supporters of the rescue center.

We are currently in exciting discussions about how God's Crew Ministry can integrate our highly nutritious products Tender Mercies into their vital ministry work.
Our products are specially formulated and highly recommended for tackling malnutrition, and we can't wait to see the impact of this collaboration!

Midwest Food Bank East Africa Division (KAPU Africa), The Amina Myrén Foundation , and Soy Afric Ltd have joined forces to fight malnutrition in public schools through a powerful new meal:
Nutridence! This grain-dense contains ;rice, dehydrated beans, soy chunks, vitamins, salt and minerals into a single package.

Today’s mission was all about data and nutrition at Munyek Primary School in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

1️⃣ Health Assessments: We conducted critical Anthropometric assessments (Height, Weight, and MUAC) to establish a baseline. This data will allow us to measure the exact health improvements over our 1-year pilot program.

2️⃣ The Cookout: Nutridence is as simple as it is nutritious—just boil and eat! We fired up the kitchens, and the kids were absolutely thrilled with their delicious, warm meals.

Focusing on the future of our public schools!

Midwest Food Bank East Africa in partnership with The Amina Myrén Foundation and Soy Afric Ltd are focused on tackling malnutrition in the public schools.
We were hosted by MCA John Tanui and Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Shollei.

Nutridence/Tender Mercies (Grain dense nutritious meal containing: rice, dehydrated beans, Soy Chunks, vitamins and minerals) forms our backbone.

We kicked things off in Elgeyo Marakwet County a region where the beautiful hilly terrain often brings the tough challenge of seasonal mudslides.

Today’s Milestones:

Strategic Planning: Early morning sessions with Uasin Gishu Directors (Public Health, Education, & Nutrition) to prep for our upcoming Assessment.

Leadership Alignment: Productive briefing with the CEC Health, Chief Officers, and Program Heads to ensure we are all moving in one direction.

The Big Launch: We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the food program at Munyeka Primary!
