KNCCI is proud to report the Study Tour on Small Commodity Market Construction for Developing Countries Phase 2 held in China from November 1–6, 2025 where National Director and Women in Business Chairlady Ms. Zainab Mohammed led the Kenya Delegation has successful concluded.
The 6-day program, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Zhejiang Normal University, took participants through Yiwu, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Jinyun, and Yongkang — exploring China’s small commodity trade, digital commerce, culture, and manufacturing innovation.
During the study, the team learnt how China transformed its small-commodity markets into global trade hubs through innovation, e-commerce integration, efficient logistics, and strong policy support. They also observed how cultural industries have been commercialized to empower rural economies, how technology such as AR and data analytics enhance global trade, and how organized manufacturing clusters create jobs and competitiveness.

On day three of the Africa International Agricultural Expo (AIAE), KNCCI Kirinyaga and Kiambu Chapters are continuing to exhibit their member products and innovations to the public .
The Expo, co-partnered by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and Agri-Africa Exhibition Ltd, aims to drive agricultural transformation through private-sector collaboration, innovation, and market access.
Yesterday, KNCCI President Dr. Erick Rutto, joined by National Directors Ken Onditi EBS, John Shimaka, and Vishal Khagram, visited exhibitors at KICC, commending their creativity and contribution to advancing Africa’s agribusiness growth.

Today, National Director Ken Onditi represented Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto at the 2025 Africa International Agricultural Expo (AIAE), currently taking place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) under the theme “Improving Agricultural Productivity in Africa through Innovations and Market Access.” In his address, Mr. Onditi reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to driving private sector–led growth in agriculture. He added that in Kenya, the still faces persistent challenges such as climate change, low productivity, limited access to finance, and restricted market access. The Expo, he said, was conceptualized to bridge these gaps by connecting policymakers, financiers, innovators, and entrepreneurs from across Africa to collaborate and forge sustainable solutions.The Expo has brought together over 100 exhibitors from more than 10 countries, highlighting the continent’s agricultural potential and serving as a hub for technology, trade, and investment in agribusiness. Today, KNCCI CEO Mr. K.K. Mutai held a courtesy meeting with a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) led by Mr. Khalil Paracha to explore ways of strengthening trade and investment ties between Kenya and Pakistan.
The discussion focused on enhancing: business-to-business linkages, expanding trade volumes, and identifying opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials. Both chambers agreed to organize joint trade missions, business forums, and exhibitions to promote market access and partnerships.
As a way forward, KNCCI and FPCCI will operationalize their existing MoU by forming a joint working group to coordinate trade engagements, share data, and build SME capacity.
