Police brutality continues to stain our society with excessive force, unlawful killings and intimidation becoming common during protests and arrests. Citizens have a constitutional right to assemble and express themselves peacefully without fear of violence. Accountability, justice for victims and urgent police reforms are necessary to end the culture of impunity.

Today women from the Kajiado and Nairobi chapters came together for a powerful women’s convening focused on the mental wellness of Women Human Rights Defenders, facilitated by Defenders Coalition.
The convening provided a safe and supportive space for women defenders to reflect, heal, share experiences and strengthen solidarity in the movement.The conversation focused on what has worked, the challenges experienced and the improvements needed to build a stronger, sustainable and impactful women led movement within the social justice space. Together we continue to organize, learn and build collective power.

Every woman and child deserves safety, dignity and protection. The continued violence against women and children is heartbreaking and unacceptable. As a society, we must speak out against femicide, abuse, neglect and all forms of violence targeting the most vulnerable.

Protecting women and children is not a favour it is a responsibility. Justice systems, communities, families and leaders must act decisively to prevent violence, support survivors and hold perpetrators accountable.Silence protects abusers speaking out can save lives.

Today we successfully held our World Menstrual Hygiene Day activity in partnership with Power Women CBO.

We sincerely appreciate all individuals who contributed KSh 9,795 towards supporting this campaign through Mukuru Community Justice Centre. Your support is a great gesture of solidarity and dignity for young women and girls in Mukuru community.

Together we continue to break stigma, promote menstrual health awareness and support access to dignity for every girl.
