Today, Anchored Hope Initiative (AHI) joined partners across Kenya in commemorating World Population Day 2026 under the global theme: "Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people – today and for the future."

Kenya's greatest asset is its young population. Realizing this potential requires deliberate investments in education, health, economic opportunities, and the empowerment of young people. A demographic dividend is not guaranteed. It is built through the choices we make today.

At Anchored Hope Initiative, we are contributing to this vision through our Education Access, Literacy & Resilience Program (EALRP) by expanding access to education, strengthening literacy, providing mentorship, and equipping vulnerable children and youth with life skills to build brighter futures.

As we commemorate this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to investing in the education and resilience of children and youth, empowering healthy and informed communities, championing inclusive development that leaves no one behind, and strengthening partnerships that create sustainable opportunities for vulnerable populations.

Together, let us build a future where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled.

As we welcome the New Year, we are inspired by the strength, creativity, and leadership of the young people and communities at the heart of our work.

This year, we recommit to walking alongside children and young people as they shape safe, rewarding, and dignified futures for themselves—and for the communities they call home. When young people are trusted, supported, and given space to lead, hope grows stronger and resilience takes root.
