Meet Siiri from Finland! 🇫🇮

Siiri is volunteering with us over the Summer in Kibera Slum. She will be teaching Contemporary and Modern Dance to children and young adults in the community.

We are incredibly grateful for the passion, energy, and skills she brings to our community. Thank you Siiri, we’re so grateful to have you on board!

This is Beatrice. She is 60 years old and lives in Kibera, where she works as a fishmonger to support her family. She is the proud mother of three daughters.

At the end of 2025, Beatrice sadly lost her husband, leaving her to navigate an incredibly difficult time for her and her family.

But thanks to the incredible generosity of our AOC community, hope found its way back. One of our amazing supporters helped finance Beatrice’s business by funding the construction of a brand-new shop.

Today, Beatrice is rebuilding her business and creating a more stable future for her daughters.

This is what community looks like. 💛
