Enough is enough.
We join voices across Kenya in condemning the rising cases of femicide and gender-based violence targeting women and girls. Every life lost is a painful reminder that silence, impunity, and weak systems continue to fail survivors and victims.
As the Network for Media & PR Women, we are calling for urgent, bold, and united action from government, institutions, communities, and all Kenyans to protect women and girls, strengthen justice systems, and end the culture of violence.
Women deserve safety. Girls deserve protection. Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done.

In media and communications, we are always “on” meeting deadlines, telling stories, responding to the moment.

But how often do we pause to check on ourselves?
On Saturday, 11 April, we created that space.

Together with the Network for Media and PR Women and Pamoja Mental Health & Safeguarding Network, we hosted Our Health Matters at the Africa YMCA — bringing together women in media and communications for a morning of movement, reflection and honest conversations on mental wellbeing.

From an energizing aerobics session to powerful discussions and shared experiences, the day created a safe and supportive space to explore what it means to navigate high pressure environments while taking care of our mental and physical health.

It was a reminder that:
✨ Wellbeing is not a luxury — it is essential
✨ Connection matters — we are not alone in these experiences
✨ Creating space to pause is just as important as the work we do

Thank you to all the incredible women who showed up, shared, and made this space meaningful.
