Child marriage is a violation of girls’ rights. Every girl deserves the right to education, safety, dignity and the freedom to shape her own future.

This International Day of the Girl Child, we must challenge harmful norms, hold systems accountable and invest in opportunities that allow every girl to thrive.

YSW joined gender stakeholders in Kwale for an annual review of progress in addressing GBV and strengthening support for survivors.

The review provided an opportunity to bring community voices to the table, highlighting concerns raised by communities and the gaps that still need attention.

Stakeholders committed to strengthening sensitisation on how and where to access GBV services, while police committed to following up on reported cases. With increased awareness contributing to more reporting, the focus now is on ensuring every report receives the appropriate response and follow-up.

Justice for Survivors (J4S) remains committed to advancing access to justice, protection, and dignity for survivors of GBV. It is funded by AFD and implemented by CRR, AFJCI, and IPPF as the lead consortium member.
