Survivors Network Kenya (SNK) is honoured to take part in the 4-day residential consultative workshop from 24th to 27th March 2026 in Machakos.
This forum comes at an important moment as stakeholders convene to contribute to the review of criminal justice sector policies and the preparation of Kenya’s 4th State Periodic Report under the United Nations Convention Against Torture (UNCAT). For SNK, this is more than attendance. It is an opportunity to ensure that conversations on justice, accountability, protection, and human rights remain grounded in lived realities.
As a survivor-led organisation, SNK believes that effective policy and legal reform must be informed by the voices of those most affected by abuse, exploitation, violence, and systemic injustice. Spaces such as this matter because they create room for collaboration, reflection, and practical recommendations that can strengthen protection systems and promote dignity for all.
Over the four days, SNK looks forward to engaging with government institutions, justice sector actors, and civil society partners in shaping stronger, rights-based responses that uphold the principle that torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment have no place in our society.
