Survivors Network Kenya (SNK) is honoured to take part in the 4-day residential consultative workshop from 24th to 27th March 2026 in Machakos.
This forum comes at an important moment as stakeholders convene to contribute to the review of criminal justice sector policies and the preparation of Kenya’s 4th State Periodic Report under the United Nations Convention Against Torture (UNCAT). For SNK, this is more than attendance. It is an opportunity to ensure that conversations on justice, accountability, protection, and human rights remain grounded in lived realities.

As a survivor-led organisation, SNK believes that effective policy and legal reform must be informed by the voices of those most affected by abuse, exploitation, violence, and systemic injustice. Spaces such as this matter because they create room for collaboration, reflection, and practical recommendations that can strengthen protection systems and promote dignity for all.

Over the four days, SNK looks forward to engaging with government institutions, justice sector actors, and civil society partners in shaping stronger, rights-based responses that uphold the principle that torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment have no place in our society.

Ramadan Mubarak from Survivors Network Kenya (SNK)

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the board, staff, and volunteers at SNK extend our warmest wishes to our Muslim brothers, sisters, and partners across Kenya and the globe.

Ramadan is a season of profound reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to justice. At SNK, these values mirror our daily mission to protect the vulnerable and support those reclaiming their freedom.

We believe that through the spirit of kindness, we can strengthen our collective resolve to end human trafficking.

May this month bring you and your families peace, health, and spiritual fulfillment.

Together we can end trafficking in persons.

🇰🇪 Kenya’s Unified Front at the Alliance 8.7 Side Event 🇲🇦

Today in Marrakech, SNK and the Kenya Ministry of Labour stood together on the global stage. Our very own Fauziah spoke at the Alliance 8.7 high-level side event, "10 Years of Partnership and Action.

Her contribution highlighted how Kenya is advancing as a Pathfinder Country by creating space for survivors to shape national labor strategies.

We are honored to work alongside the Ministry of Labour to ensure that the fight against child labour and modern slavery is informed by the realities on the ground.

Survivors Network Kenya participated in the regional ideation workshop in Nairobi (3–4 February 2026) focused on strengthening prevention responses to trafficking for forced criminality into cyber-scam centres.

Convening civil society organisations from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, the workshop provided a structured platform to:

* Examine evolving recruitment tactics linked to cyber-scam operations
* Share survivor-informed and frontline insights
* Identify risk patterns, victim profiles, and community vulnerabilities
* Co-develop adaptable prevention and awareness materials suitable for community outreach, online platforms, and transit points

As cyber-scam recruitment increasingly targets individuals from East Africa through deceptive job advertisements and informal brokers, the need for credible, locally relevant, and accessible prevention messaging is critical.

The workshop emphasised co-creation, ensuring prevention materials are informed by lived experience and connected to clear referral pathways for information, assistance, and support across national contexts.

Survivors Network Kenya remains committed to strengthening survivor-led, collaborative, and evidence-based approaches to preventing human trafficking in all its forms.

3 Ways You Can Make the Internet Safer Today 🛡️

Safety is a collective responsibility. As we mark Day 2 of , here is how you can "Unite for Safety" in the digital space:

1️⃣ Don't Forward It: If you receive non-consensual private photos or harmful content, delete it immediately. Don't be part of the chain of violence.
2️⃣ Report It: Use the 'Report' button on social media platforms when you see abusive comments targeting women.
3️⃣ Check In: If you see a friend being trolled or harassed, message them privately to ask if they are okay. Solidarity matters.

Let’s build a digital world where women and children can exist without fear.
