๐ฑ๐ท Liberian Community In Kenya Commemorates Liberia's 179th Independence Day ๐ฑ๐ท
On Sunday, 26th July 2026, the Liberian Community in Kenya proudly commemorated Liberia's 179th Independence Anniversary under the theme:
"From Independence to Sustainable Growth and Development."
The celebration commenced with exciting sporting activities at Impala Sports Club, Ngong Road, Nairobi, bringing together Liberians and friends of Liberia in a spirit of unity, fellowship, and healthy competition.
The festivities later continued with an indoor programme and celebration at M-Square Mall, Gitanga Road, Nairobi, where members gathered to reflect on our nation's journey, celebrate our heritage, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as one people.
The Chairman of the Liberian Community in Kenya, Mr. Marcus J. Weah, extends his heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to every individual, family, organisation, and friend who contributed through financial support, donations, participation, volunteering, and their presence. Your collective efforts made this year's celebration a memorable success.
We are especially grateful to our distinguished Orator, Dr. Yei P. Wiah, whose inspiring message reminded us all to uphold the spirit of unity, patriotism, and togetherness as Liberians, whether at home or across the diaspora.
Special recognition also goes to our dedicated Planning Committee, whose tireless commitment, teamwork, and countless hours of preparation ensured the successful ex*****on of this historic event. Your service to our community is deeply appreciated.
As we celebrate 179 years of independence, may we continue to foster peace, unity, and sustainable development while proudly representing Liberia wherever we are in the world.
Happy 179th Independence, Mama Liberia! ๐ฑ๐ท
