Maendeleo ya Walemavu Organization CEO, Sir Cosmas Julius today sat on a stakeholders panel to discuss inclusive early warning reporting and forecasting at the National Sensitisation Workshop organized by Kenya Metrological Services Authority. The 4 day workshop is aimed at hosting key producers and consumers of weather forecasting to co-produce information to ensure effective communication.

On 20th July, Maendeleo ya Walemavu Organization planted 200 fruit trees with Africa Women for Climate Change led by their founder, Jacinta and Bank of Baroda; led by their GM at Ronald Ngala primary school led by the Headteacher, the 2 deputies and the environmental club which includes the special needs unit.

Maendeleo ya Walemavu Organization got a chance to coach a team of radio presenters, community radio stations and CBOs in a Bridges Program that has been running courtesy of BBC Media Action and Kenya Meteorological Department. The 4 day program was held in Nakuru county converging personalities from across the country.

The Oloolua Forest Eco Tourism Group, Kenya forest service and the community in partnership with Maendeleo ya Walemavu were making the launch of disability nature trail walk. The guest of honour was PS Ephantas Kimotho, CEO Maendeleo ya Walemavu, National Council, APDK, National Police Service, Assistance County Commissioner, Senior Chief Bullbull location, Representatives of Organization for person with Disabilities and the community.

INTERNATIONAL WHEELCHAIR DAY 2026
1st March 2026, Maendeleo ya Walemavu Organisation celebrated International Wheelchair Day at the United States International University (USIU). Led by C.E.O Cosmas Julius Maendeleo ya Walemavu. The attendees were the Maendeleo team, APS officers with disabilities, DCI representatives, the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) team, the University of Nairobi team, the USIU Adaptive Sports team, caregivers, and many more among friends of persons with disabilities. It was truly a fun sporting day that strengthened bonds, promoted inclusivity, and partnerships.
The sporting activities - goalball for the visually impaired, woodball, and sitting volleyball- were a thrilling highlight of the day. The event ran successfully until evening, filled with energy, camaraderie, and shared purpose on and off the field.
