🇰🇪 Happy Mashujaa Day from CHEK 🇰🇪

As Kenya marks Mashujaa Day, we at CHEK join the nation in celebrating the courage, sacrifice, and faith of the heroes who paved the way for freedom and transformation.
We also celebrate our friends and partners across the globe the heroes of today who have answered God’s call to stand with us in transforming and empowering communities. Through your prayers, giving, and unwavering support, lives are being changed, hope is being restored, and generations are being inspired to rise.
We are reminded that true heroism is not just found in history books, but in every act of love, faith, and service done for the glory of God and the good of others.
May the Lord continue to strengthen our partnership as we build communities anchored in faith, dignity, and purpose.

Happy Mashujaa Day!

Discipled by Jesus Programme at Mwingi Prison .
Last week on Thursday and Friday, the CHEK team had the privilege of facilitating the Discipled by Jesus (DBJ) programme at Mwingi Prison.
It was a powerful time of learning, reflection, and fellowship as inmates and staff journeyed through the message of Christ’s love and discipleship. Hearts were encouraged, hope was renewed, and testimonies of transformation reminded us that God’s Word can never be locked out of any place.
We thank the prison leadership for their openness, and we celebrate every life that was touched. Together, we continue to witness how discipleship is changing lives even behind prison walls.

Discipled by Jesus (DBJ) Graduation at Murang’a Prison
One month ago, Center for Hope and Empowerment Kenya (CHEK) had the honor of completing a Discipled by Jesus (DBJ) course with inmates at Murang’a Male Prison. The journey culminated in a beautiful graduation celebration a moment of joy, reflection, and renewed hope. Together, we shared fellowship with the inmates and later extended that fellowship to prison staff across different ranks.
The significance of DBJ cannot be overstated. For inmates, this programme provides:
âś… A deeper relationship with Christ as their anchor of hope.
âś… Transformation of hearts and minds through discipleship.
âś… A renewed sense of identity and purpose, even behind bars.
For prison staff, our fellowship underscores that restoration is a collective effort. We value the dedication of prison officers who play a crucial role not only in maintaining order but also in supporting rehabilitation. Building bridges of trust, respect, and spiritual growth with the prison community strengthens the impact of our mission.
At CHEK, we believe that the gospel of Christ is powerful enough to bring light into the darkest places. Together with our partners, we remain committed to walking alongside inmates and prison workers in the journey of hope, healing, and transformation.

CHEK at Murang’a Prison – Alternative to Violence Project (AVP)
Last week, Centre for Hope and Empowerment Kenya (CHEK) had the privilege of visiting Murang’a Prison to facilitate the Alternative to Violence Project (AVP).
AVP is more than a programme. it is a lifeline of hope and transformation. For those serving long sentences, it provides tools to cultivate peace within themselves, heal from past hurts, and rebuild positive relationships even in challenging environments. For those soon to rejoin society, it equips them with practical skills to resolve conflict, make better choices, and reintegrate as responsible, peaceful, and productive members of their communities.
At CHEK, we believe that true empowerment includes restoring dignity, fostering reconciliation, and offering second chances. Prisons should not only confine but also reform, and initiatives like AVP help us walk with our brothers and sisters towards a better future.
We thank our partners, volunteers, and the prison leadership for making this possible. Together, we are proving that transformation is possible everywhere.
We invite you to join hands with us—through support, prayer, and partnership—as we continue to bring hope where it’s needed most.

🌍💧 A Milestone in Kitui! 💧🌍

We are excited to share with you that Centre for Hope and Empowerment Kenya (CHEK), in collaboration with our dear friends at Becoming love ministries, has successfully drilled a borehole in Kitui as part of our ongoing Community Project Programme. 🙌
This borehole will not only provide clean and safe water but also restore hope, dignity, and health to families in the community. We are deeply grateful to Becoming Love Ministries for standing with us and making this dream a reality. Your love in action has touched lives in a way words cannot fully express.
At CHEK, we believe that partnerships build stronger communities. This is just the beginning, and together, we can do much more. 🌱
We warmly invite individuals, churches, organizations, and well-wishers to collaborate with us in future projects. Together, let’s bring hope and transformation to more communities in need.
