Today is🩸 Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025🩸

May 28 is more than just a date—it's a powerful reminder that menstruation is a natural, healthy part of life for over half the world’s population. Yet millions still face stigma, silence, and barriers when it comes to managing their periods with dignity.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, let’s talk openly.
Let’s break the taboos.
Let’s push for change.

✨ Why this matters:

500 million people globally lack access to menstrual products or safe, private facilities to use them.

Many girls miss school or drop out entirely due to period shame or lack of resources.

In an event hosted by KENYA YOUTH Federation at Ngunyumu Primary School in Korogocho we join hands with other like minded organisations to educate, empower and donate pads as an effort to end period Stigma, and put an end to misinformation shame and inequality.

💬 Let’s hear from you!
What does period dignity mean to you?
Have you ever faced challenges around menstruation?

🔔 28th May is Menstrual Hygiene Day — and it’s time to talk periods.

Menstruation is a natural part of life. But for too many, it’s still surrounded by shame, misinformation, and inequality.

🚫 Girls missing school because they don’t have access to pads.
đźš« People afraid to speak up about their menstrual health.
đźš« Workplaces and communities where periods are still taboo.

We can do better. And we must.

🩸 On May 28, the world comes together to raise awareness, break the silence, and push for menstrual equity.

Let’s start now.

💬 What’s one thing you wish people understood about periods?
Or one change you'd like to see in how we talk about them?

Get ready to join the conversation.
Because periods are normal. And dignity should be too.

Happy earth day.
As we mark earth day this year, we need to pose and reflect on the effects of climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss, in other words, the , on gender.

While everyone is affected, women and girls particularly in low income countries, are at a greater disadvantage. They are not only disproportionately affected by the diverse impacts of environmental degradation and climate change, but they are also often excluded or grossly underrepresented in environmental decision making tables due to gender stereotypes and biases.

Climate justice and environmental justice should go beyond greening the planet. It should be about uplifting and empowering the vulnerable and often underrepresented communities, giving everyone a chance to influence decision making to the biodiversity, pollution and climate crises that directly impact them.

If It Has To Be, Its Up To Me!

When I first received a congratulations message to join the YALI Regional Leadership Training in Nairobi, I kept the excitement until it was few days to when all was confirmed. This is because, I couldn't imagine how to pull back the many other congratulations that could have followed due to circumstances.

Things happen. Rumors spread quick.

We all know how beautiful our continent is but little stories that are carelessly told without minding the consequences cover up our beauty. Some say them, spread them and later realize it wasn't true. Indeed I have grown to confirm what I was taught in my Journalism class, bad news is good news and it spreads fast.

Do you ever wonder, who starts it?
