On 7th May 2026, HESED Africa hosted an Alumni Breakfast that brought together over 100 graduates from its tailoring, hairdressing, and beauty training programmes in Eastleigh and Kasarani.

The gathering provided an opportunity to reconnect with the women, reflect on their journeys after graduation, and celebrate the remarkable progress many have made in establishing their own businesses and achieving financial stability.

Throughout the session, participants shared powerful testimonies of transformation, highlighting the impact of HESED Africa’s holistic approach through vocational training, counselling, and psychosocial support. Many women spoke of overcoming hardship, gaining confidence, and rebuilding their lives with renewed hope and purpose.

The programme continues to benefit both refugee women and women from the host community, reaffirming HESED Africa’s commitment to empowering women through sustainable skills development, emotional wellbeing, and economic empowerment.

We were honoured to host representatives from Sanara/SNDBX Ubuntu at our Eastleigh workshop today. During the visit, they engaged with and facilitated a training session for the women of Cohort 2 under the EHE-24 Project by HESED Africa, who are currently undertaking tailoring lessons.

The session provided valuable insights on effective saving practices and the formation of income-generating groups, equipping participants with practical tools to enhance their financial resilience and support one another.

We are grateful for this meaningful partnership, which continues to empower women not only through skills development but also by fostering pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month reminds us that prevention begins with awareness, education, and action.

No one should suffer in silence. Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported. Together, we can create safer communities by speaking up against abuse, challenging harmful behaviors, and standing with those affected.

Let’s continue the conversation, break the stigma, and promote respect, consent, and dignity for all. 💙
