Leadership is going rogue. Health governance is in shambles.

We hear the voices of the young women from Airbase loud and clear—and we stand with them.

In their press statement, they’ve laid bare a reality that too many decision-makers have chosen to ignore: the continued neglect of health governance is not just a policy gap—it’s a betrayal. A betrayal of young women who deserve access to quality, affordable, and dignified healthcare.

We echo their call for accountability. For justice. For leadership that doesn’t just take up space but protects and uplifts communities. The courage of these young women in demanding what is rightfully theirs is a reminder that silence is not an option.

To the young women of Airbase: your resilience is power. Your voice is valid. And your fight is ours too.

Today we submitted a letter to Kenya Human Rights Commission(KHRC) written and signed by young people of Airbase together with the community in support of SRHR Alliance as a way of expressing our dissatisfaction with the people who are responsible for promoting a healthy and thriving environment for our teens and adolescent. The letter was addressing our demand us young people since their has been an increase in teen pregnancies in Aibase, Kamukunji sub county and the people in offices are not speaking about it. We are requesting the KHRC to help us in formulating proper and sustainable measures in curbing the rise and addressing our pleas.

GBV in Kamukunji is on the rise and the reason is because we fail to speak .Therefore as young people, we 'choose to challenge' and break the gender norms and stereotypes associated against our women and girls.

Yesterday we got a visit from institute together with their partners from Oxford and Sugiyama Masashi University to follow up on an important project that they concluded on enhancement of skills and empowerment of young people.Thank you for the visit and we are looking forward for more collaboration.

This month is a special month in the world calender because it is the month of hope, courage, empathy and believe.
