From Computer Studies, Hairdressing, Beauty, and Tailoring, our trainees have gained practical, hands-on skills that prepare them to create opportunities, grow in confidence, and build a better future.

This week, Dorcas Creation convened a community engagement forum to address recurring flooding challenges and strengthen local ownership of solutions.
The discussion was open and constructive, with residents sharing lived experiences, practical ideas, and a clear desire for change. What stood out most was the community’s willingness to take responsibility and lead from within.

Key outcomes from the meeting:
-A community-led committee was established to oversee drainage and waste management
-A coordinated drainage clean-up exercise is scheduled for next week
-The area Chief will convene landlords to address waste management practices within rental properties
This is a strong example of what can happen when communities are empowered, engaged, and organized around shared challenges.

Today, Dorcas Creation Kenya, in collaboration with Special Education Professionals, facilitated an impactful mental health session for the Nawiri Mama women at the DCK Centre.

After the session, the women refreshed their minds and bodies through engaging sports activities. It was their first time participating in sports without feeling judged, and the excitement was evident.
They went home feeling confident, happy, and deeply encouraged.

Today, through our Boys’ Program, we had an impactful time of sharing, awareness, and guidance for our youths, especially the Form 4 candidates who are finishing high school and transitioning into a new phase of life.

It was a time for them to open up, share their thoughts, and talk about the challenges they face as youths, especially as boys who often go through a lot in silence. Many of them struggle with issues that sometimes lead to dropping out of school, falling into drugs, or getting into bad company due to lack of proper guidance.

It was also a moment for them to express their appreciation to Dorcas Creation Kenya for thinking about them and creating a space where they can be supported, guided, and heard — because such help is not easy to find everywhere.

We thank God for this successful and impactful program!
