The mission of SOI is to identify and train committed Christian leadership in the effective use of sports ministry, in the spreading of the Gospel message, and in alleviating human suffering. The Point Loma Women’s soccer team returned home from being on the mission field in Kenya and Uganda earlier this week! Their time was filled with God’s unwavering presence and favor as they danced in schools, encouraged families, and played a match in Kenya, they engaged in hands on gardening and brick making in Kampala, and shared conversations and heard stories of impact from the Gulu team!

Their trip was both life changing and character building as they shared in new experiences, different cultures, occasional challenges, and encountered God in powerful and real ways!

We experienced a real life “field of dreams” moment as the movementmtg outreach team transformed a baseball field in a community outside Jarabacoa in a school day! Kids left for school in the morning with an overgrown, rock filled, and unmarked field space. As they made the journey home, they couldn’t help but stop and watch the field change from hazardous to playable!

Not only was the field space transformed, but it now opens the doors for young hearts and minds to be transformed by the hope of the Gospel shared by Sports Outreach coaches.

We are grateful for the Movement team pouring into this community and making an eternal impact! 🙏⚾️

They will combine their passion and love for Jesus and soccer to restore hope and transform lives! We are excited so see the work God does in and thru them! 🙏🙏

John is raising funds for the ongoing operation of the medical center at the Sports Outreach Resource Center outside of Kampala Uganda.

Pastor Juma, our Kenya Director, and Robert Katende, our International Director, have enjoyed the past few days in Charlotte with some of our great ministry ambassadors, friends, and partners! Worship at Elevation Church and Transformation Church; meals with board members and friends; connections at Movement Mortgage. We are blessed to have such a large ministry family!

In 2023, the Mountains for Medicine Initiative began to raise funds and awareness thru cycling events to complete construction and begin operating the Nia Davenport Medical Centre with locations in southern and northern Uganda. The clinics operate 24/7 and make medical care accessible to marginalized individuals. To date, the clinics have served well over 3,000 men, women, and children!!!
